I'm a little confused.
Will Intervocative still keep their database updated?
Will they continue to come up with new/ improved versions for the current program I have (2.4)? Or will they stop since this new company is now doing their version?
Will this new company replace the old company, or are they independent of each other?
How do we know if this new company will last or even keep the database up to date as often as the old company did?
I would hate to start using this new company's version only to have it go out of business and no longer update it's database.
I just have some concerns.

Now I have to pay $29.95 just to be able to load up my back-up, which was 100% free from Intervocative.
I am not too happy right now.

I've had no problems with it so far, other than the discrepency between the old 10 digit UPCs and the 12 digit UPCs. It looks like the ones it wouldn't load are lesser titles, and aren't up in the database yet.
As for the 50 dvd limit, I didn't have any problems since I have the premium version. I felt it was totally worth the $30 to have unlimited space for my online library, and the additional premium-only features like high-rez scans and "movie pick".
I haven't messed around a lot with it yet, but I do like the new look of it, and it seems like it has a lot more features than 2.4.
Is anyone using this on Vista? I know there were known problems with the old version, so I'm wondering if this was built from the ground up with Vista in mind?

Ok, I went and paid for the registration and loaded up my backup. Everything worked. Except I have about 195 titles with the UPC error.
I deleted the old DVD Profiler via the remove programs method, but the computer only deleted some files.
I looked up the Program Files and found quite a bit of files left over.
In the Intervocative Program File I found files containing 274 MB of stuff including the image files and all of the data files for the actors and such.
Is it safe to delete the old "Intervocative Software DVD Profiler" files or is the new version using these files?

Looks good but I guess I'll keep both for now until I know for sure what's going on.

Gathering what I can from the forums, Intervocative was formed with a few of his friends to use to release programs. The only one they ever released was DVD profiler, so with the new version he formed his own company to release it. I have no problem with paying the $29.95 for the new version, it still covers any newer versions. At least he is still allowing the old registrations to download the new version.

Yes. Just go into the tools menu and get your registrtion key as you will need it to log in. DO a backup before you upgrade.

If you uploaded your backup file and it only went to 50 titles, do it again.

They seem to have dropped the export to CSV option, which I use all the time.

I've tried a couple times to connect the program to the database and I keep getting an error. I would assume it's pretty overloaded right now. Anybody else with the same problem?

Ugh. Don't like that they butchered the free version. I didn't use it enough to pay for it, and didn't mind that it had ads in when I did go to use it. But now, you can't do anything really. http://www.invelos.com/dvdpro/Registration.aspx
