i ordered this at 9;00 this morning from bestbuy.com with in store pick-up. It took them about 3 hours to send me an email saying that this dvd wasn't available. i called and got the store pick-up to a BB by my work about 12;00 and still haven't heard anything.

has anyone else had any similar experiences with in store pickup?

EDIT - Just got my email. i'll be picking mine up right after work

I just returned from my Best Buy and bought the steelbook and since the HD DVD was $22.99, I got it as well. They must have had at least 50 copies of the steelbook.

My local Best Buy had at least 200 copies of the steelbook - maybe even more in the back.

Yikes, I guess I'm getting the steel book too. That thing is very cool. They use these with video game limited editions, but I like it better with movies.

I will be picking this up as soon as I can... the LE Steelbook from BB. Damn blizzard has me kind of confined today though. I may make it out tomorrow, depends on how on the ball the snow removal crews are.

Definitely a cool case. My best buy only had 8 on the shelf, but they probably had more in the back as the guy was still putting out new release DVDs when I stopped in around 11.

God i love tin cases! It's just so much cooler. This will go right next to my other tin cases which are, V for Vendetta, Underworld: Evolution, X-3, Cars, Ong Bak, Ice Age 2.

The futureshop(downtown Montreal) i went to during lunch time had around 30 tin cases left.

picked up the Steelbook today at my local Best Buy (East Lansing/Okemos)... they had at least 40 left. i saw 3 people with them while checking out... im sure theyll be going relatively quick.

i have a friend who is getting his copy at Target, and i'm buying the script off him for 3 bucks... so its the best of both worlds.

For those who got the steel case, is it the same size as a regualr dvd case or is it bigger?

My Best Buy was sold out of the steelbook at 2:00 and nearly sold out of the regular, 1 disc edition. There was an employee standing near the display telling people that if they want a copy they should buy it now as they've been going fast since 10 AM.

same size. it won't make your collection look awkward in any way.

My Best Buy had about 50-60 steelbooks but I decided to go to Target and get mine. While the steelbook looked very nice I refused to get it due to the fact of the overlapping discs.

Just got mine from BB. Blind buy on the pic, but the steelbook dragged me in.

Very impressed with steelbooks in general, this is the third one in my collection.

My BB had 30 or so in stock, so they shouldn't be too hard to come by this week, but going forward, who knows.

What the hell is wrong with overlapping discs? Sure i'd prefer each disc on a latch type thing. But really, is it that bad? I really can't see why.. It's not like they're really touching eachother..

I don't see the big deal either. A bit annoying to have to remove the movie disc to get to the extras disc. But I'll only do that once if I even ever bother with watching the extras (rarely do these days).

I missed this during its theatrical run, so I'm renting it tonight (hopefully). I'm really trying to resist my impulse to blind-buy this one, but that steel book looks too cool to pass up.

Jippy, the movie is incredible. I rented it last week, and ended up watching it four times!

I wonder why they didn't include the "Scorsese on Scorsese" doc with Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. I had to buy the steelbook and Blu-Ray.

I don't think the overlapping discs are bad at all -- is it really that tough to take one off its spindle, set it aside (the printed side facing down), and grab the other. We're talking about 5 extra seconds. I've never seen the problem with these, especially when you get slick packaging like BB's steelbook.

Hell, as long as you didn't lose a hand somewhere, you can just hold one, take the other one out and replace the first one with out even setting it down.

That's good enough for me. Looks like I'm stopping at BB on the way home tonight .
