Why do you have to come in to random threads and threadcrap?

If you don't like the movies, stay the FUCK out of the thread. Simple.

This is probably my most anticipated set of the year. I will gladly pay the $40+ this set will cost release week. I also have a feeling if you want this set, you better buy it release week because it's extremely doubtful this set will drop in price or be on sale again anytime soon.

Hey guys. Thought some of you might wanna know I just got back from Wal Mart and they had the "Dirty Harry: Deluxe Edition: DVD ALREADY out. The Price was ONLY $9.96. I didnt pick it up myself cause Im getting the whole box set but if you only want the first film or want it for the cool packaging (a very cool semi-clear slipcover) for a good price you might wanna give it a go. Of course this probably is a case of YMMV but who knows when it comes to Wal-Mart.
Also I have a question. When did this go from 2-disk Special Edition to "Deluxe Edition"?
It looks like everything that was gonna be on the 2-disk is on the Deluxe edition but it only appears to be a 1-disk release. Also the cover art is different from the 2-disk SE posted on dvdempire. Is their still a 2-disk or did they just end up making this a 1-disk release?

I picked up the Collection at Sams today. It is awesome. In the set, Dirty Harry is a 2-disc set.

Seriously, what is your problem?

I have all of the old "snapper" releases (and as much as I loath Dead Pool) but for this packaging and new transfers I'll be double dipping.

Mod note: I STRONGLY suggest you give this thread a break. It seems you have nothing good to say about this so you are violating the rule. You've been here long enough to know better/know what's allowed and what's not.

I've watched every DIRTY HARRY movie at the movies, on t.v., bought VHS, laserdisc and dvd set. And Clint Eastwood is my favorite movie star of all-time. So I can't express on how I don't want to buy again DIRTY HARRY collection? Where am I HOME THEATER FORUM where I have to say every dvd set is great or get booted?

One commonly seen threadcrap is someone posting that "___________ is a crappy movie" in a thread dedicated to information about the movie's DVD release. The point of the thread isn't to discuss the quality of the movie, but to discuss the movie's DVD release.
If this was a generic review/request for comments on the DVDs/movie thread then your comments would be appropriate. Since this is an information thread about the DVDs then comments of the nature you are making are considered to be and inappropriate. I don't know how that compares to HTF since I've never been there, but these are the rules that we've decided to abide by here.

As far as expressing "how [you] don't want to buy [it] again" that can be done in a manner other than the tone/types of posts you are using, calling out people and criticizing their decision to buy it. If you don't want to buy it, think it's a scam or whatever just mention that (if you really feel the need too) and move on.

Question for anyone who already bought the Dirty Harry 2-disc......I use to own the snapper DVD and I recall there was a 20+ minute documentary about Dirty Harry that was hosted by Robert Urich. Is that documentary on this new set?

After seeing all the specs and extras along with commentaries, I'm glad I held off buying the previous collection. WM Lopez: If you only care about the movies and don't care about the new extras, then move on and don't waste your time making comments here. I'm a fan of the movies and I got Dirty Harry as a gift, but never got around to getting the rest of the series. Once I heard this was announced, then I sold off Dirty Harry. Warner has put out some really good box sets like Superman, Matrix, Batman collection, Blade Runner briefcase and now this and that's why it's my most anticipated set of this year so far.

I love the extras in dvds too. But like for example I bought THE WARRIORS dvd twice and the 2nd version had good stuff but I hated what they did to the movie. SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER I bought twice because the transfer looks great on the 2nd one and kept my 1st one cause of the extras. Info and comments on if to buy again another set of the same movie is helpful. If someone posts don't buy such & such dvd it's not worth the double dip I will listen. Like LOVE AT 1ST BITE do not buy this dvd because a key song is removed or the WKRP IN CINNINATI set because the music is replaced. Bad comments help the consumer although hurt sales for the company. I'm for the consumer.

The flaw being that the DVDs are not out yet, therefore you are not pointing out a defect in the production.

I didn't like the Dirty Harry movies much when I saw them, but I'm willing to give them a second chance. I think it's entirely because of the FBI badge that comes with the set. That is Just. Fucking. Awesome.

I'm glad I can still be enticed with knicknacks.

Can you guys share some of your opinions on the series?

I've only seen the first Dirty Harry and thought it was alright. I don't know anything about the sequels. Is it worth blind buying the box set to get everything or should I just go with the special edition of the first movie?

The first one is in a league of it's own, but I blind bought (is that a phrase?) the original Dirty Harry series (I had seen the original once, but didn't remember it) and enjoyed every one. The beginning of Sudden Impact is classic.

Walmart in Sacramento (Antelope store) had the new 2 disc Dirty Harry on sale already for $9.98.

That's a tough one. If you have money to blow and like to have dvds of movies you don't like just for a couple of scenes than buy the set. Just like FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMOUNT HIGH has that scene otta the pool this DIRTY HARRY series has a few good action scenes in each movie.
MAGNUM FORCE is good and has a good airport scene.
THE ENFORCER is so-so but has a few funny scenes.
SUDDEN IMPACT has that famous "make my day" scene and that's it. So you may not be watching this movie that much.
THE DEAD POOL has one decent shootout in China town and this movie also you won't be watching more than once in your lifetime.

i don't remember much of the series, except the classic scenes of course, but the one that has to take the cake and i will always remember from "The Dead Pool" is...
Spoiler:
Jim Carrey lip syncing to "Welcome to the Jungle"
absolutely priceless.
