We got Dirty Harry and the UCE at the FYE I work at a couple days ago (interestingly enough, none of the sequels by themselves). It was labeled as a "2-Disc Special Edition", and the packaging was the same as what was posted in the DVDActive link.

i don't understand that pic. it only shows 5 discs. if DH 1 is 2-discs and each other is 1 disc and then there is a feature length docu which i assume would be it's own disc...shouldn't there be at least 7 discs, 6 at minimum? am i missing something in that pic?

Pic of it all opened appears to be the BD version. I think that would be why.

Also, coversely, I liked The Dead Pool.

absolutely priceless.
and Liam Neeson's ham-fisted accent.

And I like The Dead Pool too. Granted, it's been a while, but I'll be sure to check it out when I get the set.

You're referring to this picture, unless I'm mistaken...

That's of the Blu-Ray release. The packaging on the standard DVD release of the UCE says that it's a 7-Disc release: 2 for Dirty Harry, 1 for the 4 sequels, and one for the Out Of The Shadows documentary.

i got the DH (DE) at Walmart as well today. $9.96 and it is indeed a 1-disc. that really sucks. i believe it is missing a lot which i am pissed off about. i can't return it now that is opened right? so much for getting it early...

MAGNUM FORCE is good and has a good airport scene.
THE ENFORCER is so-so but has a few funny scenes.
SUDDEN IMPACT has that famous "make my day" scene and that's it. So you may not be watching this movie that much.
THE DEAD POOL has one decent shootout in China town and this movie also you won't be watching more than once in your lifetime.
Thanks for the help. I may jump on the box set depending on how much it is during the upcoming DeepDiscount 20% off sale.

If it's too rich for my blood, I'll probably just go with the first movie.

Yo!!, I just read the DVDTALK review of THE ENFORCER and he said just about what I said if not worse about the DIRTY HARRY series. And they get on me for negative comments?

That's because, as you said, that was a review of the movie and the DVD.

This is a topic about a DVD release. The point is to share news and updates about releases. The assumption is that if you don't like a movie, or are not interested in its DVD release, you wouldn't waste your time posting in a topic about its DVD release.

I saw that everyone was really excited about the FBI Badge that comes in the set. IMO it is very cheap looking. I think it's the worst thing in the entire set.

Personally I don't care if some people here think that there are maybe 1 or 2 "good" films in this series or if the series doesn't have much replay value. I think it's a fun series, although maybe a little dated now and I am excited about this release. I know the extras alone are going to keep me entertained for many many hours.

It seems to me that the series as a whole doesn't have much replay value for Wm Lopez and that's why he isn't interested in this release and that's understandable. Not everyone can afford to spend another $50 to $60 for something they already have and especially if it's not worth it to them. But, those thoughts belong elsewhere.

Anyways, I don't currently own any of these films, so I will be making my way to Target on Tuesday and picking it up for $49.99 there.

I am a Prodigal son returning to these boards after my last post in 2001. I am very interested in the box set of the DIRTY HARRY movies and I see Best Buy will have it on sale for about $60.00. Unfortunately we do not have any Target stores in Hawaii yet where it will be $10.00 cheaper The first Target store is scheduled to open near where I live next summer. Does anyone know if Circuit City will carry it and if they will, how much will it be? So far, Costco is the cheapest here at $50.99.

For what it's worth, the 2-Disc DH will be $15 at Best Buy Tuesday, and the other films will be $10 each.

For people who don't like the whole series, this is a good way to get what films you want.

does only the dirty harry 2disc come with a transparent slipcover, or the other single disc releases as well?

You gotta watch the Dead Pool at least one good time just to see an early performance from Jim Carrey as a crazy Axel Rose-ish rock singer if I'm not mistaken.

Jim Carrey pops up in "Pink Cadillac" for about three seconds as well, as a really, really bad Elvis impersonator.

I'm still on the fence on this set, I'm a huge Eastwood fan and own the original box set and not sure it's worth the upgrade, even for the badge and book and all that cool stuff. Someone make the decision for me!

It's pretty awesome. The bonus features are really well done. If you got the money I say do it.
