Same in Minneapolis, Mook. the Blaine location was sold out, and they checked the Coon Rapids location, which had 6 copies available. I got there, and they had 3 available, so I was able to pick one up for $19.99

So, anyone in Coon Rapids, the Riverdale Crossing location has 2 left.

Stopped by my Best Buy today. They said the lenticular cover was long gone, and they only had four copies of the 2-disk in different parts of the store.

The shelf tags still say "Exclusive Edition," even though I thought the special cover was the only thing that made it Exclusive.

The slipcase was the only thing making their release an exclusive. Just stockers throwing the leftovers in the "exclusive" spot. I wasn't even aware they were carrying anything other than their own exclusive version.

Just got back from my local BB where I picked up my copy of the deluxe set with the comic book for 19.99. They only had 3 copies in the action section but when i went over to check out the best sellers there were about 10-15 copies left. They didnt seem to be in danger of running out.

ok my homeboy just brought an interesting ?, that I never thought of. I just mentioned to him what U wrote, and his question is, "Does problem lie with the actual comic book or the comic on the 2nd disc?... interesting.

Since the Deluxe edition is basically a keepcase dvd case and comic book within a slip case, they'll probably drop the comic book and slipcase components and reissue the keepcase.

My Best Buy didn't even have any in the Action section. Just the two New Release areas.

Anyway, I compared the normal 2-disk one I got today with the lenticular cover version someone got last week.

The exclusive lenticular cover is a slip case that fits over the normal box, as has been said before. But here's something weird I noticed. On that version, the Comic is packed on the outside of the package, so that the V for Vendetta ad is facing outward.

But on the regular 2-disk, the comic is packed inside the case. Strange.

I didn't like the movie that much, but I picked it up because I know if I didn't and it sold out I'd regret it. Somehow I have a feeling that there will be an Even Specialer Edition of this coming along at some point, regardless.

Just caught this thread after getting one of the few left at Best Buy on tuesday. No wonder I couldn't find it at my "discounted mainstream pick up places" (Walmart, Target,...)

For DVDPlanet storefront locals: there were two in the new releases area this morning.

Didn't you see on the news? It's because he beat up Tonya Harding.

That's the first thing I thought when I heard it on the radio this morning as well.

i saw a few of these at BB today for $23 but there's no way i am paying that much for it. unless there is some confirmation of a DISC problem instead of a comic book problem, i will be waiting.

Maybe I'm not awake yet, but...

If there is a confirmed problem with the DISC you will be buying it. But if there is a problem with the collectible comic book included that means that will no longer be created, then you will wait and buy one without the comic book later?

Or wait..

By DISC problem, you don't mean that there is a problem with the subtitles, or there are audio synch problems. You mean if there is some video content included, say, a short documentary, that will be pulled from future release?

Well looks like some how Amazon found a copy for me. Got a shipping notice that it shipped out along with Titanic. Glad it worked out and hopefully they can work it out for the rest of the people that have it preorered.

For all those who are curious about the cover, I tried to take a couple pics. They're not perfect, but they give you the idea...

It changes based on your viewing angle. Not something to get totally worked up over, but it's still pretty cool.

Some of you hunters may want to try your local Costco or Sam's Club. I was at Costco today & they had probably 50 copies or more of the deluxe edition with the comic book priced at $20.79 each.

I thought about picking one up but I really was kind of underwhelmed with the movie itself when I saw it at the theater. I asked myself why would I pick it up now if I wasn't going to pick it up before so I passed. Got burned on spazing out trying to find the Ed Wood dvd before it got recalled and that ended up being a waste of time in the long run.

I can't see how a comic book error is going to make this set worth anything more than it is now. Then when the movie comes out on HD-DVD nobody is going to give a shit about this release.

I don't know if you can call it a slipcover. To me, a slipcover is something that "slips" over the case, like the slipcovers on, let me think... Scarface, Finding Nemo, etc.

The Batman Begins Deluxe Edition is more of a box, in which the keepcase goes into. More like Titanic, except its a keepcase instead of a digipack, and the Batman box isn't as thick.

I got my copy at Best Buy with the special front cover. The comic was inside the box with the keepcase.

Thanks for the pics. I wish I could've picked mine up at BB, but I hopped on that Amazon special. I would've paid the extra few bucks for that.

...'cept those with "regular" televisions, and "regular" DVD players. Instant gratification puts this release in favor of collectibility.

Yep. I'm probably at least 5 years away from buying an HDTV.

Maybe even longer as I'd like to be done with my Ph D, own a home, be settled down and done moving before buying a new TV as my next will be a big screen. And I still have at least 3 years of schools and probably will move around once or twice to different jobs before getting on a tenure track at a place I want to work long term.
