How is the comic book - The Man Who Falls? Any good

What was the Superman SE lawsuit about?

I ordered this the other day from CH and it's showing as out of stock so I think I'm SOL.

So, after visiting Sams Club, 2 Circuit City's and 1 Best Buy this evening, I finally found 2 copies at Barnes and Nobles. I had to pay $26 apiece, but at least I've got it. Depending upon what ebay does, I'll probably sell the extra one to recoup some of my costs.

I wrote on the bargains thread but got no respnose so maybe somoene can clarify....what's the big deal with this going out of print? Is it the 2 disc set or the book that came with it or both? Obvisouly they're gonna have the 2 disc set eventually but wha'ts the big hype? I have a chance to pick up 10 of them at 25 bucks a piece. Is it worth it for a collectors item or not really?

I had my copy preordered from Amazon. Probably won't ship when the other items are available so I'm not counting on getting it. I'll probably pick up the single disc version from Movie Gallery during the B2G2 sale and grab the Deluxe Edition when it resurfaces.

no way i'd spend 25 a shot on ten disc. The dvd will be coming back around xmas, but might possibly lose the book. it isn't even the entire story anyhow...save your money.

Well, maybe I have some hope. I checked my order. I had combined it with Titanic SE and Star Wars Ep 3, and now my order has been split. Titanic and SW were together and say "Not Yet Shipped". Batman, however, says "Shipping Soon" and "We are preparing these items for shipment and this portion of your order cannot be canceled or changed."

I don't know what that means, but hopefully, it hasn't been cancelled.

Went ahead and coughed up $31 for it at Barnes & Noble. More than I was hoping to spend obviously but this movie's worth it.

Like I've said before, it's available in pretty much every other region. It won't be that hard to find.

This is why I refuse to order DVDs that come in cardboard packaging anymore. I ordered Finding Nemo from Best Buy, and was shocked when I saw the condition of its slipcase. Looked like it had been pounded against something. Sold it to someone who didn't have a problem with it, and went to a Best Buy B&M and bought a copy I could inspect first.

Last place I saw the DE of Batman Begins was Wal-Mart. Maybe one or two copies. Nowhere else. No other retailer I've visited since the day of its release has had anything but the single-disc. Feels like the DE never existed. Very happy I was able to pick it up from Best Buy with their exclusive slip.

That, I might add, is how all slipcases should be. Where the standard Amaray pulls out from the side. Men in Black - Deluxe Edition, Jaws - 30th Anniversary Edition, and Batman Begins - Deluxe Edition all have the best idea, as far as I'm concerned. But then, I also think slips should be limited to select titles. Not overused in what seems like random fashion.

I got mine from Amazon last week, and I have never seen such a great packing job. The DVD was shrinkwrapped down onto a cardboard insert that was about 12"x10" and that was laid into a box in such a way that the disc couldn't jostle around.

I haven't read the comic, mostly because due to the size, there is no way to read it and keep it mint at the same time. There is also a credit correction card inside the comic. If this had been more the size of the Amaray, it would have been better, as it would fill in the empty space inside the cardboard slip.

The comic book has three stories in it. The first deals with Batman remembering his history basically, and is good, but I've read it a few too many times already. If you haven't read it before, it's worth it. The second story is a reprint of his first appearance, in Detective Comics #27. I didn't even bother reading.. again, I've seen it plenty of times already. But it is pretty interesting to see where he started, just for historical value. The third is easily the best (in my opinion), and is a chapter out of Batman-The Long Halloween. This is currently available in trade paperback format in it's entirety, and I strongly recommend it.

All in all, like I mentioned earlier, it's neat as a collectors thing with the DVD, but not worth going out of your way for.

Enough with the "if I ordered it they better have one for me" stuff. If you had paid for the item, that would be one thing. If you had even put a deposit on it, you'd probably have a case. You didn't, though. Amazon doesn't charge until the item is ready to ship. So you asked them to get one, but in a rare occurance they couldn't.

What seems to have happened here is that they didn't get in enough copies to support all the pre-orders (since there wasn't a recall, according to people that work in stores), so the copies got shipped out until there were no more to ship.

Makes me glad I have an Amazon Prime membership. 2 day shipping for free on any order. I had my copy in my hands the day after it was released.

well i have it ordered and am waiting for the free shipping with avp, so if they do not have it, it's not the end of the world, no big deal but they should keep all orders in mind when amazon purchases in bulk, there is nothing wrong with stating that. And i am sorry prime is not worth it, atleast my opinion.

Picked up a copy at Costco for $20.97. They only got in the 2-disc edition so that's all they have and they still had cases of them on the sales floor. My comic book did not include the insert with the credits corrections.

My Amazon order still states my DE being shipped with Beavis&Butthead. I'm sure it'll be split or cancelled still though.

I picked up an extra copy at BB last night. They must have just gotten a shipment in because every time I went, they never had any of the Deluxe edition...including release day. It was $6 less than the corner store I got it from here in NYC...so now I have 2. But there definitely was no difference in the cover at BB. I don't know what people were talking about.
