They can stream it online, but if they use it on a DVD set that is sold for profit they have to pay Jimmy Hart royalties, which is why the themes for Bossman, Demolition, Snuka and probably more wrestlers were edited out.

On the R2 Wrestlemania "Tagged Classics" releases there were no music edits, so apparently the Jimmy Hart music issue applies only to American releases.

I picked up volume 1 today at FYE ($45 with a $5 mail-in rebate) and scanned thru WM V. It DOES contain the No Holds Barred trailer, including Mean Gene's shilling of it before it played.

All these edits are depressing

There was no other logo besides the block one in 1994. The scratch logo began in 1998 (I think).

So Bottom Line

Is it worth buying the whole thing?

Anyone with the R2 release know if the music edits, cuts, and blurring are still present?

From the DVDVR forums:

I bought the 2000-2004 box set and watched WM 16 last night. The blurring is pretty bad--- circular blurs on the turnbuckles, ring apron, the ref's shirt, the shirts of cameramen/photographers, fan signs, etc. After a while I got used to it, but if you're sensitive to the blurring, you might not be happy. It's overall a really nice looking set, though.
Oh well. I guess I'll just be getting digipaks 1-3 then.

The 1994 agreement severely circumscribed the WWF's ability to use those initials -- use of the then-current block logo was acceptable, but any other logos the WWF might use incorporating the initials were not covered. When the scratch logo was introduced, the WWF effectively broke the deal. This was one of the several things that led to the lawsuit.

The autograph is definitely real (you can see it in the photo) but I have no idea what comes with the rest of the Limited Edition sets. Keep in mind that I bought the leather box from wweshop.com.

the 5-disc sets are about $25 cheaper at DDD ($37)than they are on Amazon ($62).. curiously though, Amazon has set 1 for $55 and the other 3 at $62. Wonder why that is. And does anyone know what they're selling for in B&M stores.

Yeah, but DDD isn't shipping! Still waiting for mine to ship. Order still says "open".

Best Buy had the same type of pricing discrepancy, though not that cheap.

DSD,
I have a question...Piper's Pit and No Holds Barred movie trailer in WM 5? And is Ventura's commentary in WM 1-6 entirely? One last question... Do they use the original WWF Signatures to open each show or do they use the most current WWE Signature only for them all? The Power is Back or the one just before that if it is a more recent signature? Thanks a million

There both on there for 5. I didnt even have to put the disc in because it lists them under the chapters in the included booklet. Ventura is in 100% in full. Also I wanted to mention that on 13 the Godwinns have some fake theme and on 14 Taka does as well.

I think Piper's Pit on V is edited (it has been a while since I have seen it last), but suddenly Brother Love disappears, and I remember seeing him being run off by Piper before Piper starts in with Downey.

Yeah Brother Love got his kilt ripped off and rolls around in the ring with his underwear exposed. It was the highlight of wm 5.

Did anyone happen to order the wrestlemania set from overstock.com? I canceled my order with deep discount dvd yesterday after finding a 15 dollar coupon for overstock.com which ended up saving me money since I had to pay sales tax with deep discount dvd. Overstock hasn't shipped yet either and I have been reading some horror stories from people who have ordered from overstock, so I hope I dont regret canceling with DDD.

If anyone can tell me if during the WM6 DVD they still have the WM7 promos, I'd really appreciate it. There are about 3 scattered throughout the event, but the easiest way to find it is to skip to the Hogan/Warrior match and rewind a couple of minutes as it's the segment directly before the main event.

Thanks!

Hey buddy just a few questions, firstly with the attitude era, i have been told logos are blurred from turnbuckles to officials shirts and even crowd signs, are these attitude wrestlemania's still enjoyable to watch or is it really all a big mess?

- How about the editing of theme songs, apparently demolition, boss man, dusty rhodes original entrances are a no show, how have you found that to be? and also the sound of the product? because i read somewhere that on occasions you can hear a tape rewinding in the background, also about the editing of words like "wwf" in general, does all the editing throughout the set make you get to the point where you stop enjoying the manias or is it just a tiny thing in an overall great set?

Basically what im looking for is....... is the set overall worth it or does edit job make it a turn off?

Thanks in advance.

I checked 2 local Best Buys and 1 local Circuit City here in south orange county, and none of them have any Wrestlemania sets. And only one of the Best Buys had Jake Roberts DVDs, I was the one that bought the last one at the other one.

I ordered from Deep Discount DVD on 10/15/05. I e-mailed them yesterday to find out when my order was going to ship and here is the reply

Our records indicate that the following item(s) is a preorder:
WWE094517 DVD : WWE-WRESTLEMANIA-ANTHOLOGY 11/12/05

Our expected date of release is listed next to each title.
We apologize for this delay and will ship this item as soon as it
arrives.

I am wondering what the heck is going on there first they say it comes out on 11/1/05 now they say it is 11/12/05 that sucks.
