The bass is too damn low for this movie. Surrounds are fine but I can't feel the "ooomphh" when things explode or when the lightsabres crash against each other? I still say, Titanic's DTS track is the best. I was disapointed with the audio because most sites said it's the best. FYI, I have an Onkyo sr 501 receiver and celestion's speakers, jvc sub from a htib. Before you say, it's my sub, it's been fine when I play other movies ala Batman Begins and Return of the King.

Not only that, but she was pretty hot as well

As mentioned several times in multiple threads, about 60 minutes. With approx an half hour each for the Anakin and Luke segments.

I'm pretty annoyed aout the cuts too now that I've actually seen those deleted scenes. Aside from MM hotness, it wouldn've been nice to see Padme doing something in the film besides lay around her apartment looking pretty.

Yes, agreed. While I don't disagree that adding a bunch of political stuff would have bogged down the film, and that the focus should be on Anakin... it was unfortunate to lose these "origins of the rebellion" scenes. It worked very well in the novelization.

And, as you mention, cutting it turns Padme's screen time into a glorified cameo and makes her character seem weaker than she was in the previous two films.

I kinda agree, the ROTS track is very good, but somehow it lacks the punch of TPM and AOTC. Then again, ROTS didn't really have a much of a "demo scene" like the podrace or the seismic charges. I'm also spoiled by Titanic's DTS track (too awesome).

Picture quality is excellent, and "Within A Minute" was a lot better than I expected. As others have said unfortunately, TPM now sticks out like a sore thumb when it comes to PQ.

Is it me or does this movie seriously lack the lightsaber bass that AOTC had? Or do I have a bad copy of the DVD? Thanks.

I clicked on this thread wondering if anyone else felt the way I did about the LFE channel. (And apparently I'm not alone.) I actually paused the movie to make sure my subwoofer was connected and working properly. Reminds me of the original problem with Jurassic Park in DTS.

I was thinking the same thing when I watch it last night. Especially during the Obi/Ani duel. It felt like the JW score was overpowering and the bass was lacking.

Well...THAT certainly would be a first with a Star Wars DVD.

Another first would be if Lucasfilm admits there's a problem with the soundtrack.

Not going to happen....

I'll watch it again .... maybe it's my setup or possibly my ears.

I originally thought it was my setup or ears, but it can't be a coincidence that five people have now posted about this. We can't all need an ear exam or new subwoofer.

I haven't had a chance to watch it, but I do remember that the movie lacked LFE at the theater when I saw it. In fact it was reported by alot of people. So maybe this movie was made this way.

There's no problem with the soundtrack. So it's not as bombastic and overpowering as the AOTC soundtrack. It's still a better, more balanced mix.

Perhaps you guys need to watch the doc. In a sound mixing session, Williams' music editor Ken Wannberg got in an argument with Skywalker Sound guys. He was upset that the sound effects and bass were overpowering Williams' music. So Lucas had it remixed in a way that seemed to satisfy Wannberg. Perhaps that's why the bass isn't as obvious as it was in the other two mixes. Perhaps Wannberg had enough, and vented.

I honestly think the DVD has plenty of bass. Then again I have dual Velodyne HGS-18 subs. The bass in AOTC was so overcooked in my opinion that it became muddy at times.

In discussions like these I'm so glad I'm not an audio/videophile and can enjoy the movies without things like lacking bass distracting me.

Ignorance is bliss.

You're right about that. More than once I've been in the theater, tapping my fingers with annoyance at a problem with the projector, sound, etc. My wife leans over and tells me to just ignore it because apparently no one else is bothered by it.

I second that one! Many a time have I read a post that has served to trigger fits of paranoia

Well since I was told I couldn't post another Star Wars Thread, I'll ask this here:

"Ok, I tried out on Disc 1 of Star Wars Episode 3:Revenge of the Sith under the Options the Easter Egg code for the General Goofiness that was used also on Episodes 1,2, and the Original Trilogy where you type the numbers "1138" on the remote, but this time on Revenge of the Sith they had a "Yoda Rap" with Clone Troopers behind him. It was pretty funny, but I was disappointed the Blooper reel wasn't there like it was for the other movies.
I was wondering if maybe anyone else may have found out if there is one on the 2 disc set, but with a different code to unlock it? It would be nice to have it, but if the "Yoda Rap" is the only one then its a let down for fans who enjoyed the Blooper Reel Easter Egg."

REALLY?

Well it's about fucking time. He waits until the last movie? *sigh* The sound mix SUCKED for these movies "balance-wise."
