If I had to name just one, I would go with Ghostbusters...Of course there are many more I could list, but all of them already have been.

If you're old enough to remember the Cold War (and even if you aren't):

Dr. Strangelove (Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb) may just be the funniest film of all time.

Everybody knows that what is funny is based on everybodys individual taste, so I will take a few movies that I think would appeal to everyone (for laughs).

Dumb and Dumber
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
There's Something About Mary
National Lampoons: Loaded Weapon (Lethal Weapon spoof)
My Father The Hero (Depardieu is hilarious in this comedy, despite some sappy dramatic moments)
Groundhog Day (1 of Bill Murray's finest films)
The Birdcage
Weekend At Bernies
The Nutty Professor (the Eddie Murphy version)
Meet The Parents
Coming To America
The Big Lebowski
Me Myself, And Irene
Bowfinger
Office Space

(actually, alot of the films I want to put on this list a poster above me put, so that is all )

but, still, I rank National Lampoons: Vacation as 1 of the funniest movies, because Chevy Chase is just a complete idiot the whole movie.

I will go with office space and the big lebowski.

Also,I would include clerks but it is not for everyone.

And while its not a comedy, the entire bootcamp part of full metal jacket is hilarious. The drill sgt is one of my favorite movie characters.

I limited my suggestions to films available on R1 DVD:

The General (Buster Keaton)
Modern Times (Charlie Chaplin)
Horse Feathers; Duck Soup (Marx Brothers)
To Be or Not to Be (Ernst Lubitsch)
The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (Preston Sturges) coming 9/05
The Court Jester (Danny Kaye)
Son of Paleface (Bob Hope)
A Shot in the Dark; The Party (Peter Sellers)
The Producers; Blazing Saddles (Mel Brooks)
Annie Hall; Love and Death; Sleeper; What's Up, Tiger Lily? (Woody Allen)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Stripes
South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut!

Blazing Saddles
Animal House
Love and Death
Stripes
The Cannonball Run (I love that damn movie)
Clerks
Snatch
Team America: World Police (Funniest movie to come out in a few years)

Also, am I the only one who absolutely hated Zoolander? I turned it off after 20 minutes and never put it back in.
