Muad`Dib

Best 3
-Band of Brothers
-Goodfellas
-2001: Space Odyssey
-All the great stupid-comedy you've got.

Worst 3
-Kung Pow: Enter the Fist
-Matrix Revolutions
-Never Say Never Again (out of all the bond movies, WHY!?)

Most Needed
-Blazing Saddles (if you like silly comedy like Airplane, Austin Powers, Mafia!)
-Seven (You've got Fight Club and 12 Monkeys, so i'd think you like this)
-Spartacus CC (to go along with the war and kubrick stuff you got)
-Sopranos (the rest of them)
-Raging Bull (incredible movie, and you've got goodfellas)
-From Russia With Love (best bond imo)

Sorry, I cheated.

Just made an account at DVD Aff. Check out my wish list since I have such a small collection, to get a better feel.

THE COLLECTION

Look I just wanted someone to check out my dvds, no need for all this sex-talk.

ps. By "actuals" do you mean generally more dvds, or I don't have enough titles that show what kind of movies I like? Either way I agree.

Bugg..you did so many and looks like you got unceremoniously skipped, i got yours...

Best:
1. "The Beast Within" (this one scared the bejesus out of me for so long and then came to revere)
2. "NYPD Blue: Season 1" (the best, most groundbreaking season of a tv show ever!)
3. "Halloween: Limited Edition" (nice to see another lover of the best versions)

Worst:
1. "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2" (nothing really needs to be said, does it?)
2. "Hard Target" (John Woo at his sell-out worst)
3. "Wag the Dog" (more like "Bit the Pooch")

Most Needed:
1. "Alien Quadrilogy" (go for the gold)
2. "Buffy S 6 & 7" (my fav show of all time, complete the series, if not for you then for me!)
3. "The Hitcher II: I've Been Waiting" (i thought it would suck, but you know what it doesn't...at all!)

I'll grade scott1598's list
***Updated to give some remarks. I forgot the first time.***

BEST 3:
Seven Samurai CC (Great movie that inspired The Magnificent Seven)
Casablanca SE (Not Bogey's best, but you gotta love how he handles being tough and sensitive in this movie.)
The Godfather Collection (Brando, Pacino, DeNiro, Caan, etc... I love this movie as you can tell by my signature.)

WORST 3:
8 Mile (I hate eminem)
Daredevil (This is why studios need to stop making comic book movies.)
Ginger Snaps (I gave it a chance, but couldn't finish it.)

MOST NEEDED:
Blue Velvet (David Lynch's finest)
Unforgiven (Clint, Freeman, Hackman, Harris... The last great western.)
Slacker CC (A great indie that keeps revealing more details with each viewing.)

Thank goodness .. a small collection!!!

BEST Ok, so I'm cheating ....

Trainspotting Excellent film with a sick OST .. everyone should see this film by the age of 14.

Amelie I hate picking easy ones, but this film was the antitote to such films in my collection such as Irreversible and Requiem for a Dream (only flaw: non-removable subs). A truly beautiful film.

Bridge on the River Kwai Those stubborn Brits .. love it.

ET: Ultimate Gift set What a great set truly worthy of the film it represents

Wrong Men & Notorius Women Hitchcock, need I say any more?

WORST Extremely difficult to pick (well selected collection, Joe)

Alien vs Predator I heard this movie was bad before seeing it for myself, so I already had a low opinion of it .. and it only got worse. This is coming from a fan of all four Alien (including III and IV)

The Ring Another Hollywood ripoff .. I haven't seen it, nor will I ever. Ringu is all that's necessary ...

Ben Stiller Show Never liked him, never will ..

MOST NEEDED

Yakuza Papers Take a stroll on the Japanese's take on Gangster life ..

Lost Highway You're probably still waiting for a good transfer, unlike Canada's version

Ikiru A great introduction into the world of Kurosawa

Gattaca Great take on futurist sci if

Lord of the Rings Trilogy Extended Edition
Monster Legacy Gift Set

Worst (You didn't have very many "bad" movies to choose from. )
Weird Science
Blair Witch Project
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Most Needed
Once Upon a Time in the West (Even better than The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly IMO)
Once Upon a Time in America (A good mob movie)
The Road Warrior (Hey, why not? )

My list, more or less up to date:

Hey CF .. good to see ya around. Cradle to the Grave is actually in my "to be sold" pile. I bought it for a buck from a rental store. 28 Days Later has promise, but several aspects went south about half way in (got it 7 bucks). Kevin Smith .. overrated, but I like some of his stuff. I'll have to check out Days of Heaven .. never heard of it before. Badlands is on the want list with a lower priority. Only Anderson film I saw was Rushmore .. didn't get into to. Perhaps I should give it another try as this was quite some time ago.

-------------

Anybody want to '3' me? I have been collecting since 99, but recently over the past several months I have majorly slimmed down my collection by about 200 discs and am VERY selective of what I want to own now(although I do buy some guilty pleasures such as Showgirls ).

Grolim,

Here's the breakdown:

Worst:

The Village (Honestly the worst movie last year, only good as a comedy)
Freddy Got Fingered (If this wasn't so bad, Driven would've taken its place)
Chronicles of Riddick (Pitch Black IS good, This is a mess start to horrid finish)

Best:

Alien Qudrilogy (A MUST for true collectors, great films, more discs than films)
Die Hard Ultimate Collection (Great Action Flicks, Great Extras)
Star Wars Trilogy (Enough Said...would've picked Matrix Collection on extras alone, but hate the last 2 films)

Needed:

X-Men 1.5 (You have X-2, & X-men 1.5 is a Great set with Great extras)
Traffic Criterion (You have the one disc, if you like the film at all you need the criterion)
Following (You have Chritopher Nolan's other 2 films, Memento & Insomnia, so get his first)

You've got a lot of average titles mixed with a lot of Great titles and good selection of different regions, but overall you don't have too many Awful titles.

Here's my list, be gentle:

I picked up AVP just to complete both sets of Alien and Predator movies. It wasn't my finest hour.

And yes, I'm still waiting for a better Lost Highway dvd before buying it.

When I bought the remake of Lolita, for some reason I thought it was the original. I guess I just saw the title and didn't even bother to LOOK at the DVD, heh.

I do have M*A*S*H. I have the Five Star Collection actually.

I've never even heard of Crash, but I'll check it out now. Thanks a lot!

I am also working on getting some more Scorsese stuff and those Monster Collections when the cash flow is there. I also want Psycho, Vertigo, etc.
