BEST:
Band of Brothers
Grosse Pointe Blank (Not the best movie or DVD, but a hell of a lot of fun anyway!)
Tora Tora Tora

WORST:
Charlies Angels: Full Throttle
Mystery Men
Starsky & Hutch

MOST NEEDED:
Goodfellas
Defending Your Life
My Favorite Year

You don't seem to be a big classic movie fan, otherwise I would strongly urge you to buy The Big Sleep (1946) with Humphrey Bogart - possibly my favorite movie.

Wow, Last Dragon and Sho'nuff! -- that takes me back. I always liked Defending Your Life (Meryl Streep and the spaghetti scene) and My Favorite Year is a comedy classic.

10 was $5.99 at Best Buy and Real Cancun, um, I plead temporary insanity.

Great suggestions, thanks Kocheese99 and B5Erik!

I actually owned Bad Taste and NOTLD ME, but sold them because I just didn't see myself watching them again. I like both of them a lot, but just didn't feel like they'd have much replay value.

Damn! I forgot to remove America's Sweethearts from my collection - It's really my wife's DVD (honest).

I am planning on picking up the Image version of The Big Combo - and Double Indemnity is a lock if they ever re-release the thing!

I just remembered a couple of sections in my collection that I forgot to add to my DVD Profiler - I'll have to do that soon (my War movies and music DVD's).

Bugg
Best:
Andrei Rublev
2001: A Space Odyssey
Aguirre: The Wrath of God

Worst:
Independence Day
The Mask
The Passion of the Christ

Need:
Diary of a Country Priest
The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser
The Seven Samurai (though wait for Criterion to remaster and rerelease this one...it was announced by Criterion at AMMI last November...I'd guess a December release date, since that's when they rereleased M last year)

(anyone who's got Tarkovsky, Herzog, Bergman and Tombs of the Blind Dead is OK in my book, though owning Magnificent Seven but not Seven Samurai is sacrilege!)
My movin' pitchers

First, nice collection made up of a lot of first rate films.

Best

City Lights (the dude's got the oop non-PAL speed-up version ... nice)

Director's Label - Michel Gondry (a fun DVD loaded with videos and extras)

Eyes Without a Face - B&W film that is not just a fine film but where the image looks like it could have been made yesterday. Excellent extras.

Worse

Magnolia - pretentious film choice #1

Adaptation - pretentious film choice #2

Soldier - must have traded with his little brother for this gem

Needs

First, any small (but growing) collection can be picked on and shredded apart so just some ideas to add some depth to your collection.

What? No Hitchcock, Fellini, Godard, Scorcese, Ford, Renoir or Coppola???

If you like Blue Velvet consider Mulholland Dr.

If you like Kurasawa consider Ikira.

I'm offering up my spot to anyone that wants it as I've had my collection done a couple times.

$7 bin at Walmart! The only thing better than terrible direct to video scifi is terrible direct to video scifi that somehow tricked someone into giving it a budget and a theatrical release!

Ikiru's practically next on my list, 8 1/2 and some Renoir aren't far behind, as for Mulholland Dr. I'm still trying to track down the Korean version that actually has extras.

I have a copy. The extras aren't really that robust. Yes it shows some 'making of' scenes and has short interviews with the major members of the cast and Lynch but it really isn't memorable. Has a music video. One thing that is nice is that the some of the menu screens feature the whole songs. Much nicer than the 12 second stuff we seem to get. And yes there are chapter stops.

But for under $10 you can get the Region One with DTS. (or both).

Here is a source for the Region 3 DVD:

Btw, terrific Mulholland Dr. website:

Sorry it looks so nutty right now. I had everything by genre, but now that DVDAF does it for you I'm moving everything back to the way I have them on my shelves... by studio. But I'm doing it all manually... by that I mean I'm confirming each title physically before moving it. That's why there are a couple of folders with 1-2 little holdover titles left in them.

I used to be in the reviewing biz... which is where the bulk of it came from. Now that I'm out, I spend way too much on DVDs like the rest of us.

Alright Cameron here it goes. Since you appear to be the last one to have done a collection I shall undertake sifting through your massive collection.

My collection isnt to huge so lets keep this going.

Garden State
Star Wars Trilogy
Brazil: Criterion Collection

From Justin to Kelly
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist
Sideways

(isnt this what is most needed )
Dawn of the Dead: Ultimate Edition
gotta' sport some Cronenberg - Naked Lunch, Videodrome
how 'bout Scott - Blade Runner, Legend, Black Hawk Down

Just checked first post time and now, and it took me an hour to do that. Thank god for days off.
