Do you do that with movies or shows that you haven't watched before? Wouldn't the special features spoil things for you?

I've never bought anything on DVD I haven't seen first.

Good, I was afraid that you were one of those people that reads the last chapter of a book first.

I'm closer to the other extreme. Probably 75% of my movies are blind buys. I can't justify spending money at the theater and at the DVD store. I end up making a few mistakes, but the cost still works out in my favor.

But is there any reason not to wait? This Time-Life set is only exclusive temporarily right? Eventually, the same exact set will be available everywhere, and probably cheaper, right?
Sorry to quote myself, but anyone have a definite answer for this?

YES.

According to what I've read, big box retailers will start releasing / selling Season sets later this year. I don't know if the complete series will be available as a whole however and if these are released by season they may actually cost more than what the whole shebang costs now.

Me... I've got the whole magilla and hope to jump into it this weekend.

Ordered the whole set last week but of course its on backorder. I didn't see (or maybe missed) but does anyone know how long it takes Time Life to fill backorders?

Can't vouch for the entire set, but I ordered season one on December 19th, it shipped on January 4th after initially being on backorder, I got it January 13th.

I jsut ordered one as well. This is what it states at timelife.com: "Would you believe..." Get Smart is so popular that it will not be available to ship until January 23, 2007.

Since this one has now expired, is there a new one available or will it be a while before the next coupon opportunity?

um...um..hello...not everyone could afford the boxset and they did release season 1 by itself-only makes sense to release the other seasons seperately also.

I didn't realize Season 1 was available seperately but just looked on the TL website and there it is...hey DVD-4-LIFE, you can do the monthly payment thing for 4 months like I did and get the box set now....not a bad deal.

Absolutely. An incredibly complete boxset with a could packaging for the box as well. You can buy them seperately, but the box set is pretty sweet all together. It's not the fanciest looking box I own, but it's the prize of my collection as of right now.

Talk about a TOTAL RIP OFF.........

Time Life Australia are 'offering' us Aussies to get GET SMART seasons 1 and 2 in a box set for $A341 !!!!!!!!

Considering the R1 version - of the COMPLETE set for 25 discs is $U 199 - when converted to Aussie $ this would amount to $A248 !!

(the added up amounts for the complete series would be in excess of $A 760 OR $U 600 - INCREDIBLE !!!!)

How can this company get away this OVER CHARGING for this set in Australia ????

Stating that these discs are 'exclusive' to Time Life DOES NOT and SHOULD NOT give them the right to screw people.

Well guess what, if only season 1 is going to be sold seperately, then that's the only one i'm getting. I'm not shelling out $200 for the whole set, can't afford to do it. So if they're stingy enough to only sell season 1 seperately well i'll just have to spring for something else, The Odd Couple first two seasons, sold seperately comes to mind right off the bat. I love Get Smart, but I won't pay that much in one shot. If they're too hard headed to release theese seperately, I 'll just have to buy something else. That's All.
