Thanks a lot of the info! I'll be sure to call tomorrow.

This will be my last 'major plunge' since I'm moving in a couple of weeks and after that point, my money will be seriously short for such large purchases. I'm glad I was able to catch this in time... I've been waiting years! I can't wait to see what this telephone booth casing looks like....

Thanks for the advisement.

After checking mine, though, she's giving you some bullshit. I ordered about 2pm on Friday (15th), and my order shows just fine in my account on their website.

Sounds like a KAOS plot to me. The service rep was probably an enemy agent. Call them back on a scrambled, secure line with your shoe phone.
Got my order in. Pretty hyped about this. Wonder what this "phone booth" packaging will be like.

TVShowsOnDVD.com has a picture of it. It seems like a regular box on the outside with the five seasons on the inside, but the side of the box packaging instead of being open, has some flaps that look like the telephone booth.

Ah, I thought it'd look a bit cooler than that but I'll be getting it, nonetheless.

Why?

Because this link earns credits for Carl Birkmeyer of www.WouldYouBelieve.com

Carl has been promoting Get Smart for YEARS and he deserves to make a couple bucks on the sale of the DVD sets.

You don't pay any more by using Carl's link and it's a nice way to say thanks to Carl for doing a good job.
I'll second Steve's comments above, and add that by using the links through WouldYouBelieve.com, you will be eligible for additional promotional items (which have not been set yet). The more people that order through the site, the more promotional items there will be.

I bought mine today.

Is there a way to use the time-life coupons though this link?

I got my order in on the 15th at about 2:30 Pacific time and it's still there, so the problem is either random or for orders prior to some unknown time.

Get Smart

Anyone here remember the show Get Smart? Well I just found all five seasons of Get Smart will be released in November. It's weird because I've never seen the original in all its glory, just the reruns on Nick at Night when I was younger, but I'm excited to see this full uncut episodes . I've preordered it for a Christmas present for my father, who also loves the show at www.GetSmartOnDVD.com. I think that's the only place it's available because I couldn't find it on Amazon. A full listing of the extras is at http://www.wouldyoubelieve.com/dvd.html, but the list is just amazing, and it even includes commentery from some orginal cast members. None from Don Adams though :-(.

Anyone find anything better than 15% off for Time-Life?

I pre-ordered this set around a month back. Then I noticed that lots of people were saving money by using the coupon code. Well, I called customer service today and mentioned the 15% savings and I gave the rep the code. He said it was expired but would give me the discount anyway! Yahoo! So...if you have already ordered at the $199.00 price you can still save $30.00 if you call and talk to a customer service rep. The number is 1-800-950-7887. I'd be willing to bet that even if you have not yet ordered the set they would still give you the 15% discount.

As I posted in the Bargains forum: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showpost.ph...3&postcount=18

You can get an additional 8% back by using FW.
Here is Nov/Dec's 15% off code:
TimeLife • TimeLife Online Coupon: LKMD59 • Expires: 2006-12-31 Save 15% on your purchase of $75 or more

For those of you wondering whether the sets would be uncut, at least season 1 is (and I'm sure the others are as well). I went through and recorded the times of everything, and snapped some screenshots of the menus:

I hope to do one season a day, just like this one.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet:

The sets delivery date has been postponed to next Tuesday. There was an issue with some plastic slipcover things that were way too tight over the sets. The problem was that the plastic was a little too thick. They've remade them to be a proper fit with the proper thickness plastic, so everything should be go now.

I've got the same code and it's FREE shipping also. Do they charge sales tax?

I called and cancelled my order where i used a 15% coupon and reordered using the 20% coupon. They wouldn't apply the 20% coupon to the existing order. They warned me I would go to the "back of the line". However with all I have ordered lately I have plenty to watch until I get to the front of the line. With the 20% off it was $160 or $32 a season .

They do charge sales tax in New York

My set arrived today. Even though I used a 15% off coupon and the email confirmation is $169 and change, they invoiced me the full $199.

Does anyone know if they got rid of the laugh-track for this dvd - maybe a 2nd audio track with no audience laughter?

I love this show, and would buy it in a heartbeat, but after seeing a couple episodes recently on TVLand, I cringed every time there was audience laughter, which would kill each joke, and pretty much made the show unwatchable to me.

If they were able to get rid of the laugh-track for the dvd like some other TV dvd releases have done, then it would be a no-brainer for me to buy.
