Anyone know if this is being carried by Costco, and if so how much they're charging?

The review at ultimatedisney.com notes that the cover was fuzzy. So is this a Best Buy 'exclusive' non-fuzzy cover?

I haven't checked yet, but I would be surprised if it is more than $27.99 at Costco.

I too got it at Best Buy and the package wasn't fuzzy, nor did it have the $5.00 rebate coupon, both of which were mentioned in the review at ultimatedisney.com. Do you suppose that, since Best Buy was offering the $10 off in store if you bought this set with Muppets Wizard of Oz, Disney made special "Best Buy sets" that did not include the $5.00 mail in rebate if you bouth the two together (which, if you got it, would give you Muppets Wizard of Oz for $0.99)?

Hrm, upsetting since I've already opened the set.

Whats Best Buy's policy on open product?

You can only exchange an open item for the exact same item.

Is the fuzz just on the front of the slipcase? Trying to decide if this is really worth the time to take it back to Best Buy and buy this somewhere else just for fuzz.

Of course, if they make all the rest of the season sets with some kind of fuzz or texture, then it would suck if this was the only one that is different.

Ugh...I hate when little things like packaging become a pain in the ass for me...it's just another reminder that this is becoming too much of an obsession.

Yes, the felt aka fuzz is on the front of the packaging. I like it, and hope they continue hopefully with some Fozzie felt and Gonzo felt for following seasons. I would def take it back and find it at another place.

It SHOULDN'T be a pain in the ass, nor should it be something to worry about. As Mr. Corvin pointed out in the *official* press release, it's a PART OF THE SET.

f'n Best Buy.

the $5 rebate is in the Wizard of Oz case. You can get both the $10 off and $5 back.

Fuckin'
Best Buy. God damn. I already opened mine. Headed out to Wal-Mart. Target was sold out.

Sorry, didn't specify stores, I hardly order DVD's online unless I have to, don't want a loose one floating around.

The copies at my local Wal-Mart were all non-fuzzy. I had to get it for retail at Hastings. Luckily I'm getting the $10 rebate, so it'll come out okay.

What's up with this release? Did they not make enough of these early on so they've already started printing non-fuzzy cases?

Well after 3 targets and 2 Wal-Marts and 1 Best Buy I found a fuzzy case. Now I have to unload the other set.

Watched the first episode tonight. Man, the Muppets have still got it. I watched it with my 1 year (two weeks ago) old daughter. She loved it. Was dancing to the music, laughing, and even clapping when the audience did. Jim Henson is the man.

The quality is AMAZING. I was blown away at how crisp the picture was and how vivid the colors are. It literally looks as if it were filmed yesterday. If all the episodes were treated with such care everyone is in for a treat. I can accept the few music cuts, since it looks like they did put a lot of work and effort into making this the best quality set it could be.

Just got back from Costco, where they had an abundance of BOTH fuzzy and non-fuzzy covers for $27.69. My fuzzy frog is now safely home.

grrr..

How many boxes did they have on display at your Costco? There was only one box and I stupidly only checked one side of it..

Oh, and Mike, out of those three stores you mentioned, where did you find the fuzzy?

There were two boxes, but they looked pretty evenly divided between the two versions, and they were all mixed together. My guess is that they produced both kinds so that people who didn't want the fuzzy wouldn't be forced to buy that version.

I thought one version was made "before" TMS yeah (don't know about Ed Sullivan). In the Seame Street version, instead of the "do-do-do's" the girls go "pee-tee-tee-tee" or something.
This can be heard on the recent Sesame Street 3 CD boxset.

I liked Muppets Tonight as well - that was funny also
