We need a comparison of the new season 1 set vs. the time life set. Anyone know where I could find it?

Yeah, I forgot to mention songwriters. Sometimes they're the worst when it comes to home video distribution rights.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I think a comparison is in order...

we need to know why the edits where done before we go calling them...
What if its something they can't control ...
They could take our complants wrong & not release old stuff at all.....

Now granted I think once you put a song or skit in something it should stay their forever... no mater who you are.... I mean you signed off on it ... If you don't wanta do it don't.....

I'd say it is the fault of one group. The RIAA probably pulled the whole DVD isn't Video thing that they are doing to ALL TV show releases.

What's the Star Wars one. The one where Mark Hammil hosted?

Does it have lots of good skits? Does Mark Hammil play Luke in them?

actually its first appearance was on the Ed Sulivan show. It can be had on the muppet magic dvd which has some other real rarities. i believe the disc is now OOP, but you might still find it some places. It had two seperate covers...

Just watched the time life disc with Vincent Price. The closing song is You've Got A Friend. Only about 2 minutes long, but this is one of the more charming parts of that episode. Glad I held on to the time life discs! I don't think any of the other entertainers (that have cuts) appear on the time life discs.

Any initial thoughts yet from anyone who has picked this up already?

Pros? Cons? Gripes? Problems?

Yeah. The Mahna-Mahna song first appeared in Sesame Street 1969, except that the hippie didn't have sunglasses and instead of cows doing the "do-doo's", it's a pair of girls.

fuzzy packaging?

Wasn't this release supposed to have some kind of felt, or "fuzzy" packaging on the front? The set I purchased this morning at best buy was just a regular cardboard slipcase.

I thought they were making a deal out of the cover having some kind of fuzz on it or something.

Did they scrap that idea?

Same here. I was a tad disappointed. BTW, Muppets Tonight! rocked. I would love to own those as well.

Mine is fuzzy....
