Once again... What is wrong with the SB Leon surrounds? Is there a specific scene/moment I can check to see how bad it is? If it's that noticeable, I'll sell it right away. (Recently bought, but haven't watched yet). Thanks.

QuiGonJosh 10-28-04 06:43 PM

the whole mix was mixed wrong so that the surround channels have little to no activity...they corrected it quickly and if you buy the regular Leon now you have the remixed one. Unfortunately they didn't care to use the corrected mix on the Superbit.

mrcoaster 10-28-04 08:29 PM

Excellent! I've been trying to decide whether or not to get the Superbit or the regular version and now I know to just wait until January for the new 2-disc.

Zodo 10-28-04 08:47 PM

I wonder if the fifth element will get the commentary that the UK SE of it has... it's going to be really lame if all we get is like 30min's worth of featurettes.

Japanese DTS.

I'm sick of buying this movie until they can get it right.

I thought that they did put out a corrected version of Leon but you had to make sure you bought the one that had the asterisks on the top sticker. This was long ago but I know I got that one & the mix appears to be proper.

These will most definitely be rentals to see the extras only for me.

The transfers of both will likely be insignificant at best and with next gen being relatively close, there is no way I'm dropping another $15+ for extras that I will likely watch once and then upgrade again within a few years (and again when they double dip to go from 720P masters to 1080P masters).

Thanks for the info.

I also have the Japanese DTS version, but thought the surrounds was used very well for selected scenes and it had very strong bass, specially at the beginning what shakes your room.

I have not heard the original corrected version to see what the difference between the two, but I will skip this SE next year and keep my Japanese disc what I am happy with.

I have held off buying the Superbit of Leon for sometime and am glad I have done so as I will just get this edition.

In terms of 5th Element, I always wanted extras, and if the disc in the UE is a Superbit as well, I might just pick it up too.

still on the fence on new Fifth Element SE - since I really like the German Region 2 Special Edition that has 6.1 DTS-ES sound and extras similiar to New Line's Infinifilm/WB's Matrix "Follow the White Rabbit" featurettes , where you can branch in and out of the movie to see them.

Does the Sbit of LEON has audio defect? What was the defect?

;)

DANM!

Wow...that "Leon" cover is very nice. If they would have lost the pic in the upper right corner it would be perfect.

For the 5th Element...ehh...i'm not big on the "giant floating head" covers. I really wish one of the movie poster art was used (not the one like on the original DVD).

I'm going to get "5th Element", but i might consider getting "Leon" again

PixyJunket 11-01-04 01:21 PM

That Léon cover is total class!!

I wish they'd include both versions of the movie.

PopcornTreeCt 11-01-04 01:25 PM

Gonna get both. Hopefully Leon will have the corrected audio.

Dr. DVD 11-01-04 01:36 PM

Will 5th Element be the Superbit?

lisadoris 11-01-04 02:25 PM

Dagnamit I was hoping I wouldn't want to upgrade Leon but that cover alone might be worth it.

Big Worms 11-01-04 02:34 PM

Both look very good. I don't have Leon so that will be a good buy, but I already have Fifth Element. Looks like I will have to take it in to Blockbuster for the $8 trade tonight before I cannot do it.

shizawn 11-01-04 03:07 PM

Looks like for sure I'll be upgrading my Leon disc. Still undecided about the Fifth Element.

That Leon cover does look pretty sweet.

RyoHazuki 11-01-04 10:05 PM

That Leon cover is great. The Fifth Element one blows goat ass. I'll be buying both.

asianxcore 11-01-04 10:40 PM

neat cover for Leon.

is the commentary for the Leon SE still a go? the dvd answers link only mentions featurettes.

Sparrow 11-02-04 07:35 AM

I have the SB version of Fifth Element and the extended version of Leon now, but will upgrade Leon (for the 2nd or 3rd time). I love that movie. The cover art is smooth.

Yep. The Leon cover is frickin' awesome. Fact tracks are one of the few extras I really enjoy, so I'll be getting these just for those.
