yeah I mean the current editions are fine with me...but if they have commentaries with Jean Reno or Milla Jovovich or some great documentaries...then I'll gladly double dip...but if not...its all good...

More than likely here as well. Double dipping is one thing, but triple-dipping? -ohbfrank-

These are two of the few movies that I re-buy, but given Besson's aversion to SE's, I'll wait to see if the extras are truly worth an upgrade or just some fluff spread wide over two discs.

I must have missed the info on the issue with the Audio on Leon, can some tell what extactly is the problem?

fryinpan1 10-19-04 08:14 AM

I have been holding off on Leon and I am willing to double dip on the Fifth Element.

Same here.

Leon has an isolated score I hope they carry over. Otherwise I'll have to keep the old version. The Fifth Element I held off just because I knew a SE was coming. Good news.

QuiGonJosh 10-19-04 09:35 AM

I wonder if they'll get around to putting either a Superbit or new SE of The Messenger out...I think its criminally underrated and very good...

abintra 10-19-04 10:09 AM

I'll more than likely not bother with either. I'm not a big fan of extras and would rather just rent it once to see that material if warranted than sell and rebuy unless it is overwhelming in quality.

I'd probably only watch it another two times before a next gen version a few years from now so unless I can sell both and rebuy within a narrow margin I don't have a desire.

Hopefully Leon will include both versions though.

Agree 100%. In many respects this is a iflm that I place higher than the 5th element. Furthermore, given the fact that there are some superb R2 versions of it (Including the French DTS version) one could only hope....
In addition there are tons of extras available for a SE.

I'll pass on Leon. I'm getting excited about another release to just have them mess it up again.

I haven't purchased The Fifth Element yet so I'd be up for it. They could get Bruce to do a commentary since he's really not to busy these days. :)

shizawn 10-19-04 01:43 PM

Like a few others, I'll wait to see what's new with them. I own the Superbit of The Fifth Element and unless there are a ton of extras, I can't see buying a new edition.

With Leon, I might be willing to replace the one I have, if it's substantially better.

animalmystic 10-19-04 02:20 PM

Held off on both for sometime now, it was hard passing on Leon every time I went to BB, glad I did though. Will be picking these up when they drop fo sure

Fok 10-19-04 02:55 PM

I'll stick with my superbit for Fifth Element. Leon I'll double dip on. Hopefully the extra's are different to the current version.

Adrenaline 10-19-04 03:06 PM

I doubt Columbia would keep the DTS on the superbit edition for this new version.

mdc3000 10-19-04 03:41 PM

of course I just bought Fifth Element superbit...I don't really care for extras so I'll hold off that one...but if they do LEON right, I'll FINALLY pick it up... that movie is one of my favourites so i've been meaning to get it.

I own both but need to see the specs on theses to know if I am going to Double dip.

VincentVega 10-19-04 04:53 PM

I've held off on Leon because of the audio problems and The 5th Element SB is going for $35 bucks here so this announcement is a very welcome one.

Tarantino 10-19-04 05:20 PM

I'll probably double up on the Leon disc, considering it's one of my favorite movies.

Fifth Element, well...I just don't like it enough to double dip. I'm cool with my current version.

dbmottle 10-19-04 05:44 PM

I won't be buying these. Sony will most likely issue these on Blu-ray soon after the format is released.

Mike Lowrey 10-19-04 05:51 PM

I've got the 5th E SB, but no version of Leon. So I'll definately pick up a Leon-SE. Would be cool to see what a 5th E-SE would be like.

Numes 10-19-04 10:45 PM

Yes! :D Excellent news on both fronts. I've been waiting for a new version of 5th Element for a while. I was going to buy the Region ? version that had the taxicab packaging.

Thanks for the info!

Pelayu 10-20-04 08:54 AM

Fifth Element for me.

depooter 10-20-04 07:12 PM

gimme both!

Scotts35 10-20-04 08:04 PM

Wait, is the Superbit Leon the only one with correct audio?
