The funny part about the changes is, that if you look at the stills on digital bits, it looks like the Emperor still has the black roto near his face in Return of the Jedi.

The battle of Hoth is enhanced with a ground battle between the Rebel soldiers and stormtroopers
Yeah, I saw that too and posted it on another forum. Like us, this is the first time I've seen it "confirmed".

Actually I hope there's something like that in there. I always felt that a scene like that would help and fill in the gap between the shot of the AT-AT gunning down fleeing Rebel soldiers and then taking out the shield generator to when we hear "Imperial troops have entered the base." A gunfight, even a short one, as the troops are fighting their way into the base would be a nice little addition.

Yes, I do. It comes in the form of a Star Wars thread without hijacking and bashing.

Miracles, surprises, same difference.

Yeah!
otherwise you would have to use your imagination.
this is 2004, people watching a movie shouldn't have to use their imagination- movie-making is obviously advanced enough that an audience should never have to make any effort in that regards.
and if anyone is already leading the charge to that end, its GL.

Wow, that might be the best example of taking an innocent comment and turning it into a vicious onslaught that I've ever seen!

I don't think the OP's point was that we shouldn't have to use our imaginations. Your parade of horribles argument and taking things to the illogical conclusion is laughable.

How exactly do you go about taking the piss out of a picture?

Your comment was over-and-beyond snide. That's why you edited it.

I hope you don't work for the postal service, being as disgruntled as you are. Relax dude - it's just an internet web board. Don't get your panties in a bind.

Keep dreaming. I wish for world peace.

At least that's more realistic than a Star Wars thread without hijacking and bashing!

It has, but soon another one will be created when the DVDs finally get here. I'm sure the usual suspects will take it off-track again.

We'll have the following:
- George Lucas raped my childhood
- Greedo should shoot first
- Jabba looks like shit
- I can't believe they changed the already-changed Special Edition
- Will they be releasing the original theatrical versions?
- Star Wars sucks!
- You guys are all fanboys!

One day the bashers will hopefully stop sharing a brain and come up with something worthwhile to post.

Not only is it an internet message board, but all the bickering is over movies. MOVIES!

It is really unfortunate that Lucas will work really hard, string 6 films together, and have one of the next-to-final images make audiences go "Huh? WTF? That doesn't make sense..."
Also consider the exchange between Luke and Vader when Luke turns himself in. Luke says "There is conflict in you father I can feel it". That suggests the old Anakin is still buried somewhere within him. So if it's just a matter of bringing it to the surface, then his "true self" would have still existed in his current form and would have been the projection of the old man standing beside Yoda.

I know we're splitting hairs here guys.

I also started a thread in TV Talk already but since this one seems to be the most widely viewed, I'll ask it here as well. Anybody else read anything concerning this quote from tfn:

Yesterday TFN was up in Los Angeles for the DVD press day sponsored by Lucasfilm and Fox Home Entertainment. We are pleased to announce that Lucasfilm confirmed officially a Star Wars television show coming in the future. They didn't comment on setting (post-Episode III or post-Episode VI we would guess)or release schedule (we expect Fall 2006). Either way - this is coming for sure!
Anyone else verify this? I think I've read most, if not all the reviews of the OT DVD by those who attended the event and no one else has mentioned this.

Not to be picky, but Lukes words were:

"......I feel the good in you, the conflict"

okay I'm being picky...sorry Captain Harlock

No idea what you're talking about. I'm not trying to start anything; I'm just predicting the future. We all know it will happen. If you're referring to my last comment, I stand by that 100%. I laugh at people who come into a thread just to bash/hijack. They must lead extremely depressing lives.

Kal-El: Yes, I also heard that a few weeks ago when they released info of forthcoming SW DVDs (Ewoks, Droids, all that stuff). There will be some sort of SW TV show in the future.

Only Star Wars. Being a fan and collector, i love how you guys and other forums help fuel the attention that Star Wars has always and will always deserve. A Sci-Fi movie that is still being talked about, movies that can now be updated, movies that put summer blockbuster on the map, helped start the push on visual effects.etc etc etc Only Star Wars. I love it, and all of you!

I'll respond to any post that says I'm starting shit when that is not my intention. Clearly the rest of my post you quoted was on topic, as was the one which that dude referred to as "starting shit." This one, however, is not....well not yet.

Anyone else read the article on the DVDTalk main page re: the forthcoming DVD editions, such as on HD-DVD? Perhaps this will be those rumored "archival" editions. My hope, as a fan number one, but as a person who respects continuity number two, is that all the discrepancies from TPM through ROTJ will be dealt with. Lucas' creativity in making R2D2 be Leia's mom's droid, C3P0 being built by Anakin and owned by the Lars for a time, Obi-Wan "owning" a droid, etc. etc. created way too many issues in my mind. While it's fun to see where they all come from, it annoys me to no end that they all had to be related to each other somehow - it makes the vast Star Wars galaxy seem so small.

Terrell, this one is for you.
Hmm, I have no idea why you say it's for me, when it's not my quote. My quote was, you are really searching for shit to whine about by complaining about two menu shots.

If you'd like to discuss that, I'm game. But I can't help you on that one, and wouldn't if I could.

you have to go through some pretty hefty (and largely unexplained onscreen) mental gymnastics to accept Hayden as the "final" Anakin.
No you don't. It will be easy to understand, for those that are willing to accept it. Then again, some of you won't accept anything except the original theatrical cuts.

Okay, so does anyone have a divx or vcd file of Lucas's appearance on Charlie Rose yet?
