The MB I got it from was recommending this:
http://www.3ivx.com/download/windows.html
On another note, I read there too that the Falling Scream is now gone.

I notice that they're mpeg-3 files.
EDIT: Not to make myself look any more stupid, I realize that the files just use MP3 audio, but they use a 3iv2 codec for the video.

The CGI Jabba scene still looks like there's a bit of CG clipping of where they have Han and Jabba too close together and it appears that Han's body parts may "clip" Jabba. Especially after he walks around him and then starts talking to Jabba again.
Greeo scene is still pretty much the same. Cleaned up a bit and they used a big smoke puff to cover up any negative side-effects that may have occurred in the original editting between frames.
In any case, I love the restoration. No more of that fuzzy, blurry, "contrast way to high" look. Nice clear, detailed, and real looking effect. If the entire trilogy looks as good as this, this DVD set will be awesome.

I guess I can live with the slightly re-tweaked Greedo scene, since it now re-instates Han saying, "Yes, I'll bet you have..." as opposed to the awkward edit from the SE that drops the first word entirely. The Jabba scene looks smoother than the SE as well.
Seems like the burned-in subtitles are no more? Still, I agree about the restoration. Video looks great, even for a DVD rip.

I like em all. Pretty much the same opinon as everyone else - could be better, but a heck of an improvement over the SE.
Still there's a few nitpicky things I wished they'd fixed, but all in all these are shaping up to be pretty awesome. A little over three wks to go!

Ugh - they're both still horrid.
Han's last line in the Jabba scene is great, but it's not worth the inclusion of the scene into the movie. The novelty of the whole thing has worn off. It should've been put in a deleted scenes section & that's it. I don't think this 2nd try at Jabba was successful. & I know some of you are going to think I'm nuts for bringing this up, but I really hate Boba Fett in this scene. It's so obvious that he's just a guy who happened to fit in the suit & not an actor. He gets it so wrong & makes me cringe everytime.
I suppose the Greedo scene is somewhat improved, but still bad. I see Han has Jedi reflexes. No wonder he used a lightsaber in Empire. In the good news dept, I've found a new empathy with the grey furry guy in the cantina who scratches his head. That'll be me every time I see a new addition to one of these movies.
Thanks for posting them.
I can't say I won't buy this set. I'll probably be too weak to stop myself if I see a good deal, but if I do, it will honestly be for the extras disc. Maybe I should just rent.

It's obvious you get no enjoyment out of it. You continually regurgitate the same old arguments over and over. So why even waste your time. Move on and buy boots of the originals, make yourself happy for a change.
at this point i'm thinking (maybe wrongly) that watching bits and pieces of an excellant transfer on a huge screen can be as satisfying as watching the complete, better version of the movies, w/ less quality, pitched onto a much smaller screen.
i'll see when i get 'em.
what is so disappointing is that i look at those screen caps, i read about the documentary and the other extras and its easy to see this could have been an enormously satisfying release for each side of the fence.
they could have kept the 1 extra disc per set, and just released each film as a double disc with one containing the original cut.
or like ET (was supposed to do), create a limited # of sets with both cuts and charge a slight premium for it.
there were several ways not to make the release so...distancing for a lot of fans.

FWIW, I just did an extensive comparison of the new ANH Jabba with the TPM Jabba (OK, I know I have far too much time on my hands). It appears that they started with the same CGI model, because most of the markings and texture are exactly the same. However, they did make some changes, presumably to represent the fact that he is about 40 years older, and to "bridge" the TPM version with the ROTJ version. So, if people found the TPM Jabba acceptable as CGI effect (and I did), then they should have no problems with the new ANH Jabba, other than the minor clipping issues already mentioned. It is a marked improvement over the laughable version from the '97 SE.

^found those earlier tonight - the greedo shoots first comic is kinda funny and I gotta say, as much as I dislike the changes I may have to pick this up anyway for the quality alone. Oh the shame of it. *hangs head in shame*

The quality in the screengrabs is really starting to get me pumped for this release. I will still keep after getting the originals, but I think it's going to be really nice having a 16x9 5.1 set of the movies.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but the only way to put the originals and the new cuts, is to have 6 discs, one for each cut of all three films. They obviously didn't want to do that because the price would have been prohibitive, drastically cutting sales. A $125+ box set won't sell all that well with the general public, regardless of what movie it is.
Seamless branching will not work on these films. Trying to seamlessly branch these films on the same disc would be an absolutely nightmare. There are too many changes, small and large. Too many original scenes that have been redone. So branching is not an option.
Just a little more torture, eh ckolchak!!!

Looks like Ben is saying "wait a minute, I didn't make these changes"
