Does anyone have any idea if Best Buy is going to carry the Blue Underground version? It doesn't show on their website.

I'm sure they will... they've always been good about stocking BU product.

Now as to whether they'll have it on release day... that's another problem

They should have it.. BB has Deathdream and Uncle Sam for $15.99.

I doubt best buy will carry the SS version.

SS confirmed release of 8/3...one week not too bad.
Why won't Best Buy have SS? They have it as a preorder?

exactly. BB will end up stocking both versions I'm sure....I just refuse to wait 2 weeks for it to finally show up. on-line is the way to go. maybe I'm wrong and the BU will be there tomorrow....but my faith in BB is weak.

although I already recieved BU's Zombie in the mail this morning...I checked out BB just for the hell of it. much to my surprise, I found 5 copies of Z and 1 copy of Conquest, also from Fulci and BU.

I remember seeing this in the theater and being somewhat disappointed. It sure seems to have a big following though..whats the attraction? Maybe a second viewing will do it for me?

hey Deke you're showing your age there... (I was ten in 1980)

I think it was the first movie of it's kind after the success of 'Dawn of the Dead' that elaborated on the genre with outlandish gore, and gratuitious female nudity (sorely lacking from Romero's film).

and the fact the film had one of the most revolting one-sheet poster ever made for a horror film. Pretty much identical to the AB DVD cover - the tag line: 'We are going to eat you' was very effective.

Sorry there Deke, I shouldn't brought up the whole age thing.. my bad.

Interestingly, IMDB denotes that the US release was in July of 1980 while technically it's a 1979 film.

Does anybody know if the 2-disc will include the same trailers that are included on the BU disc? I am always a sucker for good, vintage trailers as an extra and have been holding off on the BU disc because the SS will most likely have same transfer, but I want to know if similar features will be on SS including all those trailers on BU. If anyone knows, I appreciate...

Same here... but I'm quite certain those Fulci trailers will only be on the BU disc. It's a sweet easter egg and I'm about ready to defect to the BU version because of it.

SS usually throws a good number of trailers on their discs, but they're all to promote SS's own catalog.
