Blind buy for me. I wanted to see it at the theaters but did not get a chance. The only thing is that I am sure that they are going to release a second edition later on and I am not sure if it would be worth the double dip.

Sucks about no DTS or trailers.

But hey, at least we get a HIGLY ACTIVE DD 5.1 EX track.

Back when this was first announced, davisdvd had a little news on a "chase cover" like those commonly found with comic books. It was supposed to be an illustrated cover, and limited to 10,000 throughout the run. Was this just a rumor? I scoped out BB & CC in my area, and didn't find anything, and didn't see any copies on ebay last night, which leads me to believe maybe they just did the comic-book instead of the cover.

I was really looking forward to hunting one of these down though.

I thought the same thing, that the first 30,000 copies of the DVD would come with the comic. They all seemed to have a sticker on the packaging saying the exclusive comic was inside.

So if the comic is inside the case, I assumed you just don't know if you have a "chase" cover until you get it home and open it.

From what I read on davisdvd, the "chase cover" was actually an alternate cover, not a bonus insert.

Out of 100 copies at BB and CC, no alternate cover. My friend at the BB said they didnt see such a cover in the case. OH well, at least I got a free SAW DVD with it.

So was there anything good on the BB bonus disc or was it just trailiers for other movies like Saw and Open Water.

i don't think you can tell which one has the limited comic book cover, since it's sealed inside the keepcase. you have to open it up to see which cover you get. the variation is on the comic book itself, not the dvd cover.

I just bought the DvD and was very impressed. I didn't get a comic but I bought it in Canada and I think I wouldn't get one because we're not as cool up here as the U.S.

I really liked the sort of retro look and feel to the film. It really reminded me of the old action films from years gone by. I think as much as this movie was overlooked at the theater it will retain a cult following and be looked back upon fondly.

I've watched the movie twice already, working on a third viewing w/o directors commentary. The more I watch it the more I like it.

THe bonus disc has 2 trailers which you've prob seen and a 5 min clip or so from the film... its not bad. THe quality of the video seems extra grainy, wonder if that is how the film will be shown...?

I also noticed the grainess of the picture, but I really like the flick was well worth the purchase. Sound kicked A$$!

I guess the better deal is the CC one with the three track bonus CD. Which film is the 5 minute clip from?

Punisher DVD is awesome. My brother and I sat down and watched it today, and boy were we pleased to see the out come! I just hope Punisher 2 becomes a reality with Tom Jane! This guy is the punisher! He couldn't have acted better, he was perfect!

Hoping to get around to those this weekend... i agree, Jane did a great job as Castle. A little minor quabbles here and there, but a solid action flick and a decent DVD.

The comic book written by Garth Ennis is great. I collect the series.

Not sure about the movie though.

Nonetheless, I'll probably get it since I collect comic movies.

Nope, doesnt appear to be so... no one has seen it, no one has pics of it, its not on ebay. If its not on ebay, it must not exist...
