Wow, Sony finally gets one right. Kudos to Sony for releasing something that's older than ten years and not The Dark Crystal.
Now, it would seem to me that this would be a good time to release Erik The Viking and A Fish Called Wanda, but what do I know.

You know, now that I think about it, it's a little disappointing to find that the official DVD has fewer special features than the bootlegs. Most of the bootlegs I've seen on Ebay have the 50 minute making-of documentary Group Madness. The official release has nothing.
Of course I'm still buying, though.

They should have went with the poster art.
And why is John Cleese's name smaller than everyone else's?
I know he wasn't in it for very long, but neither were Cheech and Chong.

Any news on ERIK THE VIKING now that we have the good word on YELLOWBEARD? I need these quasi Python films in my collection now!

Sorry to read that Yellowbeard wasn't reviewed kindly by dvdbeaver. While Gary's standards are high, it appears this release received no love at all regarding the transfer.

It dawned on me recently why this finally got released. Because of the fans have wanted it for so long? Oh, no, remember this is Sony we're talking about. Much like Lucasfilm, Sony treats their customers as a necessary inconvience. No, Sony released this to 'cash-in' on the new Pirates of the Carribean movie. That's all, and it looks likey they did it as cheaply as possible too.
Well, I had not gotten around to picking this up, as I am cutting back. The sure sign of a problem is trying to quit, eh.
Needless to say, I can skip this purchase and just rent it. Maybe Fox will give it some more love come Blu-Ray or HD DVD.
