Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms, yo.

Couldn't help myself.

The W I D E S C R E E N banner is the coup de grace.

Not only do they look similar, but there's a few more connections here:

-Both movies are remakes/reinterpretations of classic horror icons
-Both were released in 1974
-On the back of their DVD covers, the summary of both movies begin with the same word, "Paul" (No relation)

I actually don't think those covers really look that similar. When I saw the first image I was thinking it looks sort of like Bicentennial Man.

Gee, I wonder what Species is trying to mimic in the upcoming trilogy set.

Sorry for the revival, but this drives me crazy everytime I go into Blockbuster!

(It's significantly more confusing in person, or so I think)

Another one that's intentional. But I showed a girl at work who had no idea that the same people made the 2 movies and she freaked. Especially when the cast was the same too.

Scott Weinberg noted this as well in his review, but when I saw that thumbnail the similarities immediately jumped out at me.

Interesting thread. Though I must admit most of the covers posted in this thread aren't very similiar to one another. There are the blatant ripoffs that are pretty fun but just because someone's body is placed in the same spot with the same color scheme does not make it similiar at least not to me.

How about Die Hard 2 vs. Speed. Can anyone dig those up? They are quite similar.
