Some of the best horror movie posters ive ever seen have been from Indonesia of all places...there are many of them in the book "Eaten Alive-Italian Zombie and Cannibal Movies" by Jay Slater. I wish some american posters were as creative and unique.

ebay. Now I'm talking of older movies, nothing post 90, but ebay is the best place to get vintage movie posters.

It's all marketing. Our brains are machines that need to put objects in categorys. If something is good we process the things that distinguish it and tend to gravitate to objects that create simular signals. I like certain colors and when I shop for cloths look for those colors. Fit and style come later, the color gets me to look in the first place. This is the same concept with movie posters. Something makes lots of money and everyone will try to copy it for a quick buck.

I like the ones where the cast are all floating to the side of the text - it looks like they're reading the titles and quotes.

I'm sure the Drop Dead Roses being similar to Die Another Day is that it is suppose to be a parody of it, like the Breakfast Club and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

That cover for "Drop Dead Roses" looks even more like the poster for Die Another Day:

Well, this is another case where the designer was intentionally trying to invoke the design of another cover.

Like the Drop Dead Roses was, I think, parodying the Bond poster ("I'm not even supposed to be on this cover today!").
