Question for those people who have new DVD to add to their DB. Do you just wait until the server come back up before adding those new titles to your DB or do you add them now and then sync up later?

4,300 minutes is about three days, which is why I used that number. But to put something on the home page of your web site that contradicts what you claim in a forum (that you can't count on all of your customers reading) is deceitful.
So since they're lying on their web page they could be lying in the forum post too. Once they establish their level of deceit we don't know what is true or not.
Here's what everyone seems to agree on:
* They've been down since at LEAST Friday.
* They posted on HTF that they had hardware and ISP troubles.
* They posted on their homepage that they're down for "routine maintenance" and to check back in "a few minutes."
* Their IP address changed on Monday.
* They're now running Windows Server 2003.
The last two items suggest that they have acquired their new server. But still no update on their web site. And they're still down.
At what point does "temporarily unavailable" mean "permanently unavailable"?

Windows 2000, although I don't know how long they've been on Server 2003. Heck, "upgrading" could have been the cause of their problem.

I think what is driving me and Jough nuts is the fact that we know it doesn't take this long to fix these types of problems if you have the right backups in place.
I work in IT and if a problem like this occurs it is a severity 1 problem that will be fixed immediately. We would have data and hardware restored within 24 hours....and usually within 3-6 hours.
Bottom line....this shouldn't take going on 5 days to fix. I've been pretty cool about this...but my patience is wearing thin.

Yeah, it's frustrating. I've got several DVD's in the "hopper" waiting to go online. But I'm patient. Plus, it gave me a chance to try out Guzzlefish too, since I really wanted something online for my friends and family to see.
I won't be leaving DVD Profiler over this, but I will now use two cataloguing programs from now on, just in case something like this happens.

DVD Profiler does allow you to post your collection online. I paid the $25.00 for the program, so I not sure if that is a registered user feature or not.

Mat:
Actually the limit is a bit more nevulous than number of titles. If you are running free the limit of your file is 500KB and if you lock your titles to prevent overwrite your file will be smaller in terms of number of films because it takes more space. Once you become a registered user you have a "virtually unlimited collection size"(their words).

Since we are talking about DVD Profiler....and it is still down....Let me ask you guys this question:
How do you input your box sets? For instance...the high school reunion box set....or the Godfather collection....if I input it as a set it only counts as one title. Is there any way to make these count as multiple titles in my collection?
In my DVD Profiler database...I like seeing that I own the collections...but when I look and it says I have 600 titles....I know that I really have more. I want the true number!!! If I input each movie and the box set, it would mean my numbers are greater than they should be.
I have always been stuck in limbo on what to do.
Any thoughts?

I'm not sure how it handles it, but I noticed that some of the boxed sets have the individual DVD UPC codes listed in the "Boxed Set Contents" section. If the set shows those UPC's, then I add the set . . . otherwise, I go with the individual movies.
Does anybody know if it "processes" those when looking at counts?

By defintion from IVS, boxsets are those films that are individually cased. In other words, The Godfather Collection or Back to the Future are NOT boxsets. Planet of the Apes: The Evolution is.

IVS's definition is not the common one. The Godfather Collection contains three films, not one. It is most certainly a boxed set of films.
It just depends on how things are counted. I like the way DVD AF does it the best - they give you a simple count and then a count of how many actual film titles you have.
Seems to work.
