Not again. I don't even care about extras on this anymore. I just want the film.

Disney put a feature on the R1 release that they didn't have R1 rights for. It' was originally held up while they tried to get the rights.
Did they get the rights? I mean, was it supposed to be on this one that was about to be released?

Didn't the original cancelled version ship to a few places? I thought I'd seen it on E-bay, but I never bought it because I'm sure it'll come out eventually. (Plus I like the cover of the new cancelled one better.)

Thanks for nothing Disney.

I'm getting sick of all the legal mumbo jumbo getting in the way of releases that have no other reason not to be released on time.

This is getting very very annoying.

I work at a video store in MA and we got about 15 copies in already, with a street of Feb 3 I think. I should go and sneak one just in case they get recalled.

Just checked Amazon's site again and the status has been changed from this morning:
Availability: THIS TITLE IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. If you would like to purchase this title, we recommend that you occasionally check this page to see if it has become available.

Ironically, there was a banner ad just a few minutes ago on DavisDVD to pre-order Ed Wood through DVD Planet; I clicked through and the listing still appears to be on their site.

I want to cry and decapitate Mickey Mouse all in the same breath.

I am not happy about this at all. Maybe my store will still get some in and I can just grab one for myself. Last time I checked, we still had 49 on order.

I know blockbuster has tended to put out "catalog" titles early in the past so it might be worth checking to see if any are out before they are recalled.

The Digital Bits has this to say:

"Well, here's disappointing news. Buena Vista's Ed Wood: Special Edition (previously scheduled for release on 2/3) has been indefinitely delayed... again. We've been receiving a lot of e-mails from our retail sources over the last 12 hours, and we've just heard official word from the studio. We have no idea why this might be happening, or when the title might be re-slated for release, but you can be sure we'll update you with anything we hear."

CRUD!

Yeah, I just e-mailed my Buena Vista contact, asking her if it was delayed. She told me:

"I just checked in with the studio - - and you are correct. I don't have
a new date yet - - I'll keep you posted."

There must be a good reason for the delay. Have patience. Oh, I forgot that this was due out in August 2002, so forget the patience. Still, I am sure that when we finally see this released it will have been well worth the wait.

They'll probably cross-promote it with Big Fish's dvd release in 6 months, or so.

Maybe it's because of the increased demand for the Di$ney Treasures sets....and then when Ed Wood comes out, it will delay another title....and so on...and so on...and so on....
