Link please? The regular R3 outlets have no mention of this Feb. release and the one site I found with it just seems to scream bootleg. Speaking of which anyone want to bid on this one?

"Here Comes The Brine" Watch out for that Japanese sea spray!

1 Disc or 2?
What are the official extras?
It's a single disc and the only extras are a featurette and some trailers.

I hate when soundtracks leave off awsome bits of music. So please let me know!
Its on there but many, many tracks are missing. Very dissapointing. Some of the ones not included are very hard to find too.

There were 2 bootleg trailers. I wonder why the menu only lists one. Maybe the second is an easter egg?

The only Bootleg Trailer I want is the one with "Death Rides A Horse" on it.

Besides, they'll probably have ALL trailers on the super edition.

DVDEmpire confirms the Behind-the-scenes featurette and trvia track, but no trailers.

DavisDVD confirms the trvia track, trailers and DVD-ROM goodies.

Let's hope it has everything combined.

Well, considering that they've already released screen shots of the trailers menu screen, and it's in their print ads in the trades, I think the trailers are a sure-bet.

I hadn't actually heard anything about a trivia track, but if it's as cool as the ones on the Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown discs that would be awesome.

Well, I sure hope they include the trivia track on the future deluxe box set, too. I love those.

I absolutely can't believe you guys are NOT going to skip this particular version in favor of *this* version!

PRESS RELEASE:

Universal Pictures has announced that Kill Bill: vol. 1 will be released to Japanese DVD on April 16th in a regular edition and a Premium Box edition.

The standard edition DVD will contain a 113 minute long cut of the movie, 2 minutes longer than the American theatrical version, and bonus features including staff interviews and a 25 minute long documentary on the making of the anime sequence. The dual layered DVD will include optional English DTS and 5.1 audio and Japanese 5.1 audio and optional English and Japanese subtitles. The regular edition DVD will retail at 3,800 yen ($35).

The Premium Box edition will include the standard edition DVD and a 24 page booklet, a bloodstained Medicom "Bearbrik," a Japanese size large replica of The Bride's Okinawa T-shirt, and a 1:10 scale replica of The Bride's Hanzo Hattori katana, all packaged in an illustrated box retailing at 7,800 yen ($72).

First edition copies of both DVD editions will include a discount coupon for admission to the Japanese theatrical release of Kill Bill: vol. 2.

I'll be getting it, along with the Region 1 release, despite not having a region free player.

If I'm correct the Amazon.jp site doesn't allow you to place it in the cart anymore, just add it to your wishlist, since they sold out long ago (I was able to preorder it two hours after they sent me the notification email ). You can try to preorder it at yesasia.com. Of course since it pretty much sold out just days after the announcement, you now have to pay triple the original price ($200) and pray you can still get it anyway.

The region 2 dvd I ordered is 113 minutes, the region 1 is 111 minutes long... anyone know what's in those 2 minutes? Also, I believe the long fight scene is in color in region 2, can anyone confirm?

purpendicular,

the version of the film i saw here in Sweden was the same as the US one with the black and white fight scene bits.. i can't imagine that 113 minutes being anything more than a misprint because i've never heard anything about it being longer here. as far as i know, Japan is the only country (and maybe some other asian countries) that had a different version.. but only in that it was in color and not black and white.. not longer in any way.

Actually, I've heard that there's extra bits of gore in both the anime sequence and The Bride's interrogation of Sophie scene. I can't confirm any of this, just stuff people have said over in the international Forum. But I guess that would explain the extra 2 mins.

What does the R2 boxset specs and what does the box look like? I don't know if a letter opener, a Mickey Mouse figurine and a T-Shirt? are enough for me to spend all that money. There is going to be an R1 rerelease anyways.
