DVD File says the disc will have the trailes.

Whether it is those excellent Vol. 1 trailers (and maybe one for Vol.2) or those (sometimes stupid) Sneak Peaks, it's all fine.

Sorry, for creating such a huge argument, but how did miramax, harvey and qt drop the ball for realeasing it in two. I don't think the average movie fan, could have taken another hour and a half, after the whole crazy 88 sequence and (spoiler for the ending of pt 1)
Spoiler:
the death of Lucy Lui"s character

Rypro.. for once, I agree with you strongly. The audiance wouldn't be able to handle it. You already have a few GREAT fighting scenes and a lot dumped on you. QT of course re-edited it to add a few more things and fill in the gaps and add some to make it two films, but over all, I am glad he decided to do that. it worked out better.

Just got the latest Video Business that says the Kill Bill Vol. 1 DVD will be a 2-disc set.

We've just posted a couple of menu shots here Interestingly it looks like the disc will include trailers for a Kill Bill Vol 1 Bootleg and a teaser for Volume Two. What's the bootleg one then?

the bootleg trailer ought to be one of the two bootleg trailers that showed in a handful of exclusive locations in the US, and they are also available on the soundtrack CD.

Bootleg #1 was an awesome trailer. It's got scenes from Vol-2 since it was made at the time when KILL BILL was supposed to be one gigantic movie.

Hey Tom, what else is in the Special Features section? Or were you simply sent the menu shots? Different press releases offer conflicting information. Some say it's a 2-disc set, others say only one disc. Some say that there's an hour and a half "Conversation with Tarantino" - others list only 12 minutes of interviews.

It's just a one disc release as far as I know, containing a making of featurette of some sort and those trailers. That's all the press release said anyway. An all-singing all-dancing release should be out later in the year.

Hopefully this isn't the final spec sheet, as only one special feature is listed right now! The artwork isn't available yet either. Here are the details we have so far though anyway:

2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen Presentation
English Dolby Digital 5.1 Track
English DTS 5.1 Surround Track
French Language Track
Behind the Scenes Program with Quentin Tarantino
English, Spanish Subtitles
can't wait

As was mentioned above, the Bootleg Trailer was NOT approved by the MPAA - it's the trailer Quentin preferred - and it appears on the Soundtrack CD (although in MOV format). I'm glad they added the Vol. 2 teaser as well, because it's really cool. If you can't wait:

Love the anime look for the menu.

Makes me want a prequel with the anime style.
Oh how sweet that'd be.

Does the soundtrack have that awsome bit of music used in the trailer & a portion of the film?

I hate when soundtracks leave off awsome bits of music. So please let me know!

OK, I was trying to fight off the urge to get this and Dawn of the Dead, so as to wait for the all singing all dancing verisons, but I already caved on Dawn and now am feeling the urge to get this something fierce. Those menu shots are beckoning to me. Help!

If you mean the song that plays during Lucy Liu & gang's "slow walk" shot, then yes it's on the sound track. It's Battle Without Honor or Humanity by Hotei Tomoyasu and you can hear a little clip here.

Cover's cool, menus are f//king awsome & we all know how great the flick is...

But there's a few things left unanswered, at least to me.

1 Disc or 2?
What are the official extras?

But probably the thing bugging me the most is a article I read today in a magazine (forget which one) about Vol. 2...

Quentin said that there is no definative version of the film. He went on to say he shot "A LOT" of extra stuff for the Hong Kong release, and that it's a totally different movie.

We're here debating over getting this release or the later SE release, now the Hong Kong version is supposedly completly different... In the word of Mr. Pink, "Now I'm totally f//king tortured."
