Looking at the feedback, this seller is slow. For $3.00, shipping should be first class. As long as it arrives..

I sent them an email trying to find out why they said Duel shipped. I think DVDLegacy will be getting a lot of negative feedback at Ebay and Half.com if this is true.

Exactly....I got a shipping notice from them also. If they never shipped it then I feel they deserve negative feedback on ebay. It will just add to their rather large collection of negatives.

Same here, I didn't get a cancellation notice..... yet.

You're right, too many negatives. Normally, I would never purchase from a seller like this.

I have not received an email saying that they couldn't get it. I did get the email saying that it had shipped. That was two days ago. But, I do see now that they no longer offer the DVD on their regular site.

They are going to be getting a LOT of negs, and all in a row probably. Over the span of a few days, they put up a lot of auctions. I will ABSOLUTELY leave them one, and the good part is, they've already left me positive feedback, so they can't retaliate.

Wouldn't surprise me. They're a bunch of scumbags, just like every human being in this world is a scumbag.

I think the thing to do, at that point, is to create a bunch of 'dummy' eBay accounts and bid on all of their auctions, just to screw them up.

I don't know what to believe since I received conflicting emails from them saying it shipped and now it's cancelled. Initially I received an email saying it shipped a couple of days ago. And checking my order status on their site lists Duel as shipped. But the message I received this morning states that everybody who ordered will be getting a refund. Sounds like they didn't get any copies from that statement.

I also received positive feedback and will more than likely leave them negative if my order was cancelled. Even if I receive a copy I think they will at least get a neutral for the confusion created.

Amazon comes through.

Well, someone congratulate me, please. I got my copy of Duel from amazon.com today - and this is my first post here. I've been lurking at this forum for quite awhile, and last Sunday I was fascinated at the turn of events at amazon making Duel available. I placed an order at 10:14 in the morning, and it arrived in the mail today. Looks and sounds great! The 5.1 surround really adds to the movie.

I've loved Duel since I first saw it back in the 70s, have had the LaserDisc and now this lovely DVD. So thanks to all here who tipped me off about it.

Just like when the tourist comes into your state and wins the local lottery. Just kidding. Congrats on your purchase. Hang on to it. It might be worth something.

so I called Tower Records tonite and asked about Duel...

he told me it was pushed back until December 23rd.

actually, he didn't SAY it was "pushed back"...he told me that's what the computer said the release date was..

Here's an update, of sorts, for the people who purchased off eBay from DVD Legacy.

If you check DVD Legacy's feedback, near the top you will find two positive feedbacks from buyers who won one of the Duel auctions. I was tempted to use eBay's forwarding system to ask them if they actually received their DVDs. I can't imagine that they would have left the feedback before they got their DVDs.

I got my confirmation of shipment three days ago for an auction I won last tuesday. This new info gives me more hope.

No need to. Plenty of rattlesnakes in the movie - and they look and sound great!

That's great news if people are leaving positive feedback. Hopefully that means they received the DVD. But I still haven't heard back from them on the email I received yesterday about cancelling orders and issuing refunds. Also I haven't been charged by DVDLegacy yet. Did anyone who used a credit card for payment get charged?

I emailed one of the people who left feedback and he replied that all the orders were cancelled and he left positive feedback anyway.

If my order is cancelled after I already got a notice that said it shipped, I think that deserves a big fat negative for lying about shipping something.

Well, $#^* me gently with a chainsaw... I got a response from one of the two buyers who left positive feedback on eBay, saying that their order was cancelled, their money refunded, but they left positive feedback because of the fast response. Huh? What kind of retard is he....? Suddenly, the dark clouds gather again.

I used a CC to pay and it's still sitting in the debt column waiting to actually go on. If they cancel the order, it'll just fall off I guess.

I have not received a cancellation email. When I click on the link in the email I got to check the status of my order, I get this -

Current Order Status
Payment Status: Received on 8/6/2003 4:25:30 PM
Payment Cleared: Cleared on 8/6/2003 4:25:33 PM
Item Shipped: Shipped on 8/6/2003
Shipper/Tracking Number: USPS: Media Mail -- 8_6_342

So I don't know. Seems to me that if it has not really shipped, they've got some serious 'splaining to do.

I wonder if that's the same dingleberry I heard back from?

I'm in your camp. A BIG negative will be coming if they've screwed me.
