Haven't heard anything. What makes you ask that?

Still listed for August 12 at Amazon and several other places - what prompted the posting?

I've read the same thing today on a serious and normally reliable french canadian website so I would tend to say it's true.

Apparently, Universal would have simply removed the film from its release schedule without further notice. Strange! And kind of sad two as I was awaiting this release and it would be the second time they do it.

I saw a post today at the HTF from a normally reliable source that said it's cancelled.

We just confirmed it with Universal. Duel is gone from its August 12th date. It is now definitely TBA.

Any patience (very little) I had with Universal is totaly gone now.

We should all boycott these idiots.

Just wait until about 3 weeks before they're scheduled to be released,

Since this film has still not been added to the pre-order lists of some e-tailers I wasn't all sure it was going to come out in August. I guess this proves my fears right.

Dennis Weaver's daughter-in-law was killed in the Farmer's Market tragedy in Santa Monica last week. I don't know if there's a connection but maybe the Weaver family thought it would be poor taste to release this movie on DVD so soon after her death.

I highly doubt it.

I don't. The proximity in time of this delay to the death of Lynne-Ann Weaver makes this the most logical explanation.

Well the movie is about an [innocent] man (Dennis Weaver) that is being pursued by a crazed somewhat murderous trucker.

Because, if it is about respecting the wishes of the Weaver family, he would probably support this "nonsense" completely.
