I ordered it from amazon on 8/3, along with 2 books, and my order is listed as "shipping soon". I used the Super Saver shipping option, and I'm hoping that's why it hasn't actually been shipped yet. At least it hasn't been cancelled yet as some have reported. Keeping my fingers crossed.

You should be getting your cancellation email anytime now.

If it actually ships, let us know.

I ordered mine from this company on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=2289

Just got an email this morning that my DVD shipped today.

This is the only listing right now for a reasonable price. Everybody else is over $40, and that's not a sure thing.

Just received an email that a copy of Duel I purchased from Ebay has shipped. Also had a single DVD order ship from Amazon Monday. Hopefully at least one of them will show up.

www.dvdlegacy.com still has it available. They are the same people that have been selling it on ebay and half.com, and it's few bucks cheaper if you order directly from them.

Here's a direct link: https://www.dvdlegacy.com/product_fi...?film_id=26527

My amazon order was changed to "not shipping yet" or something like that, so I assume it's cancelled since the 2 books I ordered at the same time already shipped.

I ordered a copy off half.com so maybe that'll come through.

THAT'S IT!! That's the reason behind the recall/delay! Spielberg is insisting on an insert for all Duel packaging! (Perhaps Steven is drawing each Chapter insert by hand individually.)

Close, but not quite true. It was actually Dennis Weaver that demanded an insert.

Just sold my copy on ebay with a buy it now option of $75.00......This will be released eventually so I figured cash in on the craze and probably have this again sometime later this year.

Received my copy today from Amazon. I am going to watch my DVD and might consider selling afterward. Also expecting another copy from Ebay that will definitely get sold.

wouldn't you all want to wait to sell? now the prices are still low, so people won't want it badly, but in a few months when no word has been said about a release date, people will start becoming desperate.

Or they'll say that the first disc had a problem and it will be released next month. Then nobody would want the first batch of defective discs. I had one ship from ebay for about $16. I may put it back up on ebay to see what I can get. I don't know if this movie is worth keeping or not. I haven't even seen it but it sounds interesting. I would like to watch it.

What idiot would shell out $75.00 (or more) for a disc that will be widely available for $15 (or less) in (probably) a short time? Even if it's more than a short time's wait, it's still insanity! (IMO, natch.)

I guess E-Bay actually stands for: E[mpty my pockets please!]-Bay .

My copy from amazon is still listed as "not shipped yet", but they haven't sent me a cancellation notice.

I ordered a copy yesterday off half.com, and the seller (dvdlegacy) confirmed the order today, so at least I'll get that copy. About $17 or $18 including shipping.

Some Ebay bidders are just insane. If they'd look around a little bit they could probably get this disc for its regular price.

I agree... listed this and within an hour or two a person used the buy it now option and another person had posted a question regarding the dvd itself. Had to respond with the "item sold" news. Wish I would have ordered more than one.

You are right about the short time availability....I strongly believe we will be seeing an announcement soon for a new release date before the year has ended. I can wait and for the money to be had....I would be dumb not to capitalize on the craze!!! There are a couple on ebay now in the $50 range which will probably surpass my buy it now auction.

Do not be greedy....$75.00 is a great return for a $15.00 dvd. Universal could come out tomorrow with a release date for September. Do you want to take that chance? SELL....
SELL....SELL!!!

I just received the following email from DVDLegacy regarding Duel. This leaves me more confused since they sent an earlier email stating the DVD shipped a couple of days ago.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

The manufacturing company has stopped the release of this movie for indefinite time of period. We are refunding everybody who has ordered this DVD. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Dvd Legacy
