Please don't talk on the forum about how you plan on defrauding companies... it's against the rules here.

How many did they sell on ebay...50? That's alot of negatives. Sending false shipping confirmations is pretty nasty. The auctions did say it was a presale and would be available on the 12th.

It's a shame. A buyer gets a few FVF's and they get hosed. But sellers like this can screw hundreds of people and nothing happens.

If my order is cancelled after I already got a notice that said it shipped, I think that deserves a big fat negative for lying about shipping something.
Did he say anything about receiving shipping confirmation for his order? I might have left DVDLegacy positive feedback myself if they said they couldn't get any copies because the Duel release was cancelled, and handled this situation professionally. It wouldn't be their fault since they did mention the DVD was a presale in the auction listing. But I do agree they deserve negative feedback if they didn't ship any DVDs after sending emails saying they did. I think that is were DVDLegacy crossed the line.

I might consider reporting them to Ebay if I receive nothing. But I am not sure if Ebay will do anything if all the money is refunded, and they claim it was just a big mistake. Also they are a high volume seller which I doubt Ebay would want to lose.

I received an email from DVDLegacy today confirming my order for Duel was cancelled even though they stated in an earlier message it had shipped. The email gave no explanation or apology but simply said "cancelled". Looks like I am going to have to leave them negative feedback at Ebay when I have more time.

For those getting cancellation notices, was there any mention of when and how your money will be refunded?

No specifics or details were given about how I would be issued a refund. However, I did make payment by credit card and no charges were ever posted to my account. I assume I will never see those charges since my order was cancelled and won't have to worry about receiving a refund.

Just checked my account a few minutes ago and I have now been charged! DVDLegacy better reverse those charges or they will be disputed with my credit card company.

I ordered Duel on thier website and they charged my credit card and never shipped anything. I emailed them about the website order they said it was cancelled and they will refund the money. They better not take their time to do it, especially since they charged me before they ever shipped anything.

I also ordered one ebay and got an email that said it shipped. I emailed them about that one and they responded with a one word email that said "cancelled". No explaination, not even a sentence....very unprofessional. I paid with paypal and I'd really like to know how they plan on refunding the money and when.

Once I get my money back they'll never see another dime from me.

I just got my cancellation email, FIVE days after I got the email saying it had shipped. Let the flood of negative feedback commence.

BTW, be SURE to file a 'non-selling' report on eBay as well.

Go to 'help', and then you can find 'Non-selling Seller (Policy)' under the A-Z index. From there you can file your report.

Make sure to enter all the info they want.

This is the complaint I left in the last box--

'As I understand the policy, it is illegal to put up for auction an Item that you do not have, or are not reasonably sure that you'll be able to deliver within 30 days of the auction's end.

This seller was selling DVDs that they did not have, and even went as far as sending out email confirmations of shipment, when NO DVD was actually shipped. The included email was received FIVE days after I received an email telling me that my DVD had shipped.

This is NOT the kind of seller that is wanted on eBay, and something should be done.'

Well, I just got a SHIPPED notice today.. no cancellation... I printed the web page status from their site for future reference.

BTW... PAYPAL USERS.. complain there if you got a 'shipped' and then a 'cancelled'.. enough complaints and they get their PayPal account locked (and all their money tied up).

DvdLegacy is a good company and I've never had a problem with them. Unlike Amazon and other online retailers DVDLegacy is a smaller company and probably wasn't aware of the recall (in time)and doesn't have the manpower to update there website (as promptly). I too ordered from them and am positive my money will be refunded. I am upset about the situation but it was a longshot to begin with and I don't think any retaliation against them is in order.

Sorry, but claiming to ship an item you don't have is unethical in my opinion. I think that is the problem many are having with this company. If they promptly cancelled orders because they couldn't obtain the product, then it would have been a different matter.

Was this from DVDLegacy?

They're a 'good' company that sells items they don't have and then lies about shipping these items. Obviously, you're using some strange usage of the word 'good' that I was not previously aware of.

No offense, but you're wrong.

Retaliation IS in order.

(I don't suppose your eBay name is "buzzy_and_duke". Some dingleberry with that name just left positive feedback to DVD Legacy for an auction for Duel, that is in violation of eBay's non-seller policy. No wonder eBay is going down the crapper.)

I guess soon you will realize that ebay could really give a crap about you. Are you just learning this or does it need to be pointed out to you. DVDLegacy from what I can see brings in alot of money for ebay each month in regards to selling fees. As long as they refund orders for Duel, there is nothing you or anyone else on this forum can do about it. I agree with others here that the situation should have been handled better...seems like their emails were pretty vague etc. Get on with life people and preorder this title in the future as it WILL be released. Stay away from DVDLegacy...hundreds of others are still buying even with their negative feedback so what does that tell you about the feedback you are leaving?

Thank you, Captain Obvious!!!

Actually, there is something that could be done. Their business on eBay could be disrupted, but it would involve committing fraud. Deleted fraud discussion again. - Static

But, to be constructive. Since I'm not willing to shell out $100 for this DVD, if anyone hears any news about a new release date, let us know.

Good companies don't lie and say they shipped something that obviously they haven't, I hope e-bay drops these people form their site. As for Universal well any respect I ahd for them is gone.

It would involve fraud should you decide you have the strength some day.

Has anyone that paid with PAYPAL gotten a 'tough luck' email yet?

Did you get the FULL amount refunded INCLUDING the extra PAYPAL service fee?

If you didn't you haven't received a refund and until you receive the TOTAL amount back you paid, they are still on the hook.

I would suspect that the only ones that will see a disc from them are the one's that paid with PayPal, so they won't have to eat those fees.

Also, those that were charged, received a shipping notice and then a cancellation - remember to file a Better Business Bureau complaint in their home city. They will have to explain WHY they charged, claimed to ship and then denied it in writing.

And for those foolish enough to defend these morons, please note that most of the eBay sales were made AFTER THE RECALL WAS MADE KNOWN. If they were a reputable company they would have immediately ENDED THOSE AUCTIONS and not left them available to be purchased.

I paid with PAYPAL and got a cancellation email today....5 days after they said the DVD was shipped. They said they have started to issue me a refund but I didn't get anything yet. I don't think I'll be seeing any DVDs from them. I'm wondering if I'll see any money from them.

They'll take your money and lie about shipping something quick. But it is taking them awhile to give us our money back.
