You've been great Lizard, thank you. If you have a number for them I can call from here--Vonage Broadband is a wonderful thing....I have a local number overseas! I was looking for ANY number for CH yesterday with no luck. They seem to have that info under lock and key... I'll check Google and Yahoo today and see what I find. When I get a number I will just call in the order to make sure everything goes the way it should. Again, thanks. You've been very helpful.

The regular CSRs at the number emerald9999 gave above can no longer use the best codes when opening new accounts (but you'll need it if you get an account opened). Whether the phone application takers will accept an application with an APO address I couldn't say.

I got this one in an email. P7G It's not as good as the LMT codes, but it's a good backup if the others stop working.
You get 6 DVDs for 49¢ each--FREE shipping and processing.
As a Club member, all you need to do is buy 3 more movies in the next 2 years at regular Club prices (currently as low as $19.95 each plus shipping and processing). You may cancel anytime thereafter by contacting Customer Service.
ADVANCE BONUS OFFER!
Take a 7th movie now for the special price of just $14.95 (FREE shipping and processing) and have only 2 more movies to buy at regular Club prices(instead of 3) in the next 2 years. Plus, you can even take a 8th movie for $9.95 (FREE shipping and processing).

APO ADDRESS DILEMMA SOLVED!!!!
I am fortunate enough to have a diplomatic pouch address option ( it only comes in maybe once a month tho...) I used that address with the P7G code and it worked. I tried calling the number emerald gave me, but it was busy the entire time.... So I went online and used the code. My plan is to change my address after a few weeks to the APO that way I will get my mailings in a timely manner. Hopefully that will work. The APO/FPO plan CH offers is not a deal at all. This worked just fine though.
QUESTION--I signed my husband up for the "refer friends and get 2 dvds" offer.... Does anyone know if I can get away with his name and email but the same address?
A BIG thank you for Emerald9999, Lizard, and D-Ball--I couldn't have done this without your help.

You can have 2 DVD accounts on same address (as my and my wife has). There is no need to refer as the deal is not worth the money. Instead join as regular using one of the better code. I think you will need to pay shipping on 2 free dvds so its not even free. Plus other person will have 5 commitments. (that is almost twice than with code meaning if two quit and rejoin again using codes you get 10-12 free dvds instead of 2+5)

By the way, why did you care to donate an extra $5 to CH by using P7G ?

Okay, I will just sign him up seperately using P7G unless someone knows of another code.. THANK YOU Italian and zaq12wsx, I'm learning so much from all of you!
I honestly didn't know I was spending more...I used P7G because 38D, 38Y, 38YD and LMT all asked for PSN numbers which I don't have. I tried to wing a number once, but nothing ever came of it except an email saying APO users have another deal--which is really horrible (5+5 commitments)--Hopefully now that I'm lucky enough finally to have a decent account I can get even better deals in the future... We're kinda stuck with things like this over here, this code worked and I took it! Now I will be only 6-8 months behind in movies instead of 12-18 months!!!!! Unfortunately Israel doesn't have a black market for movies like Nepal and Thailand did!; Bummer.

That P7G D-Ball found and you used is the best non-PSN code we have seen, by a wide margin, which is why ITALIAN926 is so pleased. We get so used to good codes requiring a PSN that we often don't check them to make sure.
I trust that you are able to play Region 1 DVDs overseas or you wouldn't be buying them. How does that work? Do you just use standard US equipment adapted to the local power source? A region free player?

I'm so glad I was able to find that out for you guys, even if it was an accident!!! As for the Region 1 DVDs, we have multi-system 110/220v players that play all regions and regular 110v that are connected to a voltage transformer that play only region 1 dvds. Needless to say, we have a TON of components and our TVs are dwarfed in comparrison to them... Most military exchanges have 110/220 multi-system equipment; they are hard to find at Best Buy or Circuit City but can be ordered.

Another no PSN code:
Columbia House actually sent me a decent "We want you back" e-mail code: P5X. This is a standard 6/2 ($14.95 bonus) code and doesn't appear to require a PSN. Not as good as P7G above, but a decent deal that we were happy to get not so long ago.
[Before someone asks, the code is embedded in the URL of the site that the e-mail links to.]
I have been clicking on those "We want you back" e-mails for years and this was the first respectable deal I have ever received. So, check those e-mails and see what other codes come up.

Once in awhile Columbia House throws a decent sale code our way and it gets much discussed in other threads. (This thread is for enrollment codes.) An example of such a thread is: New CH code for established accounts..... Most of the codes mentioned there no longer work but one that does (on my account at least) is 801050:
Get Unlimited DVDs at 50% off
when you buy one at regular price. Plus, enjoy a Special Reward and get an EXTRA $10 FunCash with your order of $35 or more!
But that isn't a very good deal because funcash has become almost worthless.

issue with new account
I have tried to create a new account with many on the codes listed. When I go to sign up I get the following message.
"You get 5 DVDs for 49¢ each with Free Shipping!
As a Club member, all you need to do is buy 5 more movies in the next 2 years at regular Club prices"
I do not want to continue if I have to buy 5 more. What is up with this, I have been a member in the past but have not been a member for the last two years.
It seems that the site will not take the codes for the dvd or the music. I am running XP with sp2 anyone else having issues?
Thanks for your help

I have tried entering the code on the main page and clicking on GO and it just returns me to the main page. I have also tried turning off pop-ups blocked that is in sp2. It still does the same thing. Any ideas?

The enrollment site does not work correctly with certain browsers. Try using IE for your application. I tested the site and it works fine. Please be sure you are using the right website:
www. columbiahouse.com/sa/ch/homepage.jsp (delete the space after www. ) Other than that, I have no suggestions.
