Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Actually I was surprised this morning, walked over to the dvd area and they actually had some new dvds in stock.

Most were from Echo Bridge and were your disaster flare kind of movies.

I picked up 4 of them.
Disaster Zone: Volcano in New York
Dream a Little Dream 2
Michael Jackson: Life of a Superstar
Crash Landing/ 10.5 Apocalypse (Double Feature) <Contains 2 discs, both with artwork>

Also to clarify about those Digiview type DVDs, they are from a company called Broadpoint.

Without Light
Acid Rain
Basketweave
The Fall Before Paradise
Insomnia Manica
Vigilantes
Delirium

Don't buy the one called "The Land Of College Prophets". I bought a copy and it had the DVD of "The Fall Before Paradise" inside the case. I bought 2 more copies of TLOCP, and they had "The Fall Before Paradise" in their cases too.

While very common on pd labels, the Veil is a fun series & is actually worth watching! Though if it's on Platinum it's likely to have that annoying on screen logo.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

There was a sign out front advertising these at the one in town. Small, selection, maybe already pretty picked over.

Saw:
Great Debaters
Lies & Alibis
1408 (Fullscreen)

Picked up the lone copy of The Hammer to replace the Blockbuster rental copy I had.

There were about 6 movies on the poster, all Weinstein, I remember Scray Movie 4 and the aforementioned 1408.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Picked up Scary Movie 4. Hated it the only time I saw it but figure I might as well grab it for a dollar to have all four films. Plus I can remind myself for how bad it was for less than a rental.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

After dicovering DouglasRobert's post mid-afternoon, I high-tailed to my local Dollar Tree, hoping to get in on the action. In addition to the previously mentioned Punch-Drunk Love, Marie Antoinette, The Net 2.0, Slipstream, and Running with Scissors, I also saw:

Silver City (directed by John Sayles)
Flight of the Red Balloon (directed by Hou Hsiao Hsien)
Lonesome Jim (directed by Steve Buscemi)
Truth or Consequences N.M. (directed by and starring Kiefer Sutherland)
Stealth 2-disc Special Edition (starring Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel)
The Road to Guantanamo
Hannah Takes the Stairs

I ended up snagging 8 DVDs. Thanks for the tip, DouglasRobert!

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

The store closest to me actually got some, but they were pretty picked over. only 2 titles even worth mentioning were Running With Scissors & Slipstream. This may be the 1st time that store has had anything reported here!

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I didn't see anything when I was in there today. Either they didn't get anything or it came and went. There's a new store that I could check out, but the couple of times I've been in there they haven't had any DVDs. However, it's also more out of the way, so if they did get anything, it probably wouldn't be too picked over.
