That's an interesting idea. If you're gonna be paying an extra buck anyway, why not rent a different movie rather than pay twice for the same one? And if by taking a movie out of the machine you free up some space so you can return the first one, even better.

I agree with felcher's suggestion, but find it hard to believe that a machine could be COMPLETELY full. That must be some hecka low-traffic location where you're their only customer.

Just called Redbox customer service. I was told they did some kind of upgrade and on a few accounts, the preferences weren't saved. While I was on the phone with the associate, I logged into redbox.com (which I hadn't done in ages) and sure enough my mobile # and the option to receive text codes was blank. Was given a free promo code over the phone. :up:

While returning a BBE movie, I met the gal who stocked the machine. Per her; you can use every month's name once as a freebie code. As in this month, use MARCH. Haven't tried it yet, but I will.

MARCH did not work for me as a promo code for BBE and it said it would right on their display screen that shows the movie clips and such. I was able to use GOLIVE and it worked fine.

fyi - you can earn redbox codes by drinking slurpees!

each slurpee drink has a 12 digit code on it that can be entered on http://www.slurpeenationrewards.com/

you earn points for each code you enter (a large 40oz slurpee earns 4 points)

a one night rental at redbox is only 5 points (supposedly 1/2 price right now)

since my favorite drink in the world is a slurpee and i love to watch dvds, these is a match made in heaven (heck, the red box machine is even located outside of the 7-11)

Redbox now seems to have something in place where it knows the name on each credit card, so you can't use the same code with different credit cards anymore. Pillaging was fun while it lasted- it was the only reason I even carried multiple credit cards.

Looks like BBE is getting more aggressive. Kind of fun watching this play out. In wisconsin, we are starting to see more BBE kiosks. Kwik Trip seems to be using the format.

i can't get home to use it even if i had one. looks like blockbuster express is working in some areas. in nyc all the bbx's are inside and there are a ton of them.
