You obviously started out to sell these for profit - just because they sold for far, far less than what you wanted does not turn you into a good guy. If you wanted to be a "good guy" you would have sold them for $8.99 each via BuyItNow which would cover your total for the item, eBay fees & Paypal fees. Then charge the $2.50 - $3 to ship. But you didn't - it was a way for you to make a profit and it failed like we all told you it would. Hopefully you have a special fund set aside for your kids College fees that you can't touch...

LOL, That's the only thing I said that I admittedly would considered "out of line" for this type of thread. But regardless, since you've done nothing but make one smart a** response after another spitting on the effort to re sell these items, thus knowing they "might" go for a little less than amazon or DD still yet. The funniest part of this all, the the obviously effort I've noted in MANY other posts prior to my effort, chanting "EBAY BOUND, EBAY BOUND" speaking of amazon DEAL of the Day items and such. "ONE FOR ME, ONE FOR EBAY". But no, you decide to pick my effort as your shining example to dig through past forums to find these, and no doubt make bids yourself, hell, might of even won one of them. You must have as much IF NOT MORE time on your hand to go through that kinda trouble, to scrutinize an individual.

Is anyone else sick of having to scroll through ten of the same "let's drag SimpsonsFan through the mud" posts to actually get to another post about what other deals people have found at Big Lots? When you have a handful of posts its very easy to click 'View All' and read the ones you did - which also mentioned your eBay bound items. I didn't frequent the other threads (or simply didn't care enough to reply) until you made some pretty bold statements here how you bought 20 sets to pay for your kids College fund. As I said last week, its one thing to buy 1 or 2 for eBay to 'pay for' your set, but 20? Really?

And me placing bids on your items? Why would I want to make the price jump higher? I have almost 900 feedbacks on eBay and have no need reason to go into a bidding war on some stupid box sets I could get for $6 myself. I do feel the need to donate to your kids College funds though. Just stay out of Vegas, K?

Just saw this now. :)

Found a lot of the good classic Warner titles at the Big Lots in Milwaukee on Hwy 100. There were still a good deal left when I was there yesterday. They also had a pretty nice selection at the location in Oak Creek (27th Street). I don't think DVDs move very well in either location (I recognized many that were there more than a month ago, unless they had an abundance of those titles). I haven't seen any box sets though. Maybe on the 12th?

Thankfully, I have my iPhone with me at all times to quickly check the resale value of anything I think may be worth something. But in general, you won't find any gold at Big Lots when the same stock has been offered out to other wholesalers as well who already tried dumping this stock for a higher price. That's why Big Lots has it - no one else wants it anymore and they bought more of it so they get a price break. Great for those of us who actually want to watch these (or gift them) instead of selling them.

FREDDY VS. JASON

Wait, so you do this so often that you have a system down with your iPhone, but you're dogging simpsonsfan?

And you have 900 ebay ratings ... seems you've been greedy yourself a time or two. Hundred.

Just because you don't do it at Big Lots doesn't make you any better. Neither does your 19000 posts.

I've been with eBay for 6 years and sell a lot of stuff. DVDs, Blu-rays, Toys, etc. I also buy a lot. I didn't start a new account to re-sell stuff from Big Lots. But hey, wag the finger at me if you want, no biggie. I'm not the one bragging about paying for my kids College education with Animaniac DVDs.

Point taken. It was pretty naive of simpsonsfan to post that and then be surprised by the crap tornado that followed.

I was just a bit surprised that you piled on so hard when it looks like you may have done something similar.

The 19000 posts crack was a cheap shot, sorry.

Because it gets tiresome that people can't find products because some jerk went in and bought them all. As I said, if you want to buy an extra one or two to resell to 'pay for' the item you get to keep then alright...I get it. But buying 20 sets "all of them" is just cruel to others who may want to get them. Remember - many people here travel from store to store to locate a certain title and when some guy buys them all it sucks for everyone else.

I'm still trying to track down Smallvile and Nip/Tuck on Blu-ray but one of the sales associates told me "some guy bought like 5 or 6 of them the other day". Just wonderful.

I agree with your assessment of 27th. But I was at Hwy 100 yesterday and they had TONS of box sets. Not sure how you could miss them... An entire white table was filled with em, plus there were some boxes under the table with more... East Capitol also has tons of box sets. They have the largest selection, me thinks...

one of the Big Lots stores I go to said a flea market seller and a movie stop employee came in a cleaned them out before I got there.

Also one of the stores told me they aren't putting out there box sets until Sunday and when she asked how I knew about them I said other stores are selling them already.

I think the only way that simpsonfan can win on that deal is to sit on them for a couple of years and wait for them to go totally out of print and very scarce and then! pray they dont get a blu-ray release. seems to me the only discs that bring big bucks are movies with a cult following that are totalyl out of print and have been so for some time. a couple of examples are matthew bright's sequal to freeway "confessions of a trick baby" cant find a used copy at a reasonable price anywhere, and anothe movie I have been looking for for some time now, paul newman's final film "where the money is". perhaps a better way for him to make some money would be to scavage the second hand stores, going through the mounds of run of the mill crappy movies looking for some real rare gems. or he can join all the idiiots I still see on craigslist trying get $1000 for a copy of michael jackson's thriller on vinyl, which I still cant understand being it was pretty much the biggest selling album of all time

I finally found the complete Wonder Woman. They had about 5 left as of 11:30 AM at Nasa rd and 45 South in the Houston area. This store actually put out a whole bunch of stuff. They had a huge display of box sets next to the dvd rack. Also found for the first time were Blade series, Drew Carey S1, and Friends S5. They also had a bunch of the usual stuff like Joey, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Scooby Doo, Dukes of hazzard, Six Feet Under, NFL sets, Smallville dvd and blu-ray, and a bunch more.

I was right by the Big Lots in Monroeville PA today so I went in to take a look. None of the Warner classics or TV sets folks mention here. Don't know if they've been cleaned out or never had them. Several copies of K-Pax, and fullscreen versions of Wimbledon, lots of other junk.

I hit another store today and got the following:

Pinky & The Brain V1
Chisum (Snapper)
Pat and Mike (Snapper)
Super Friends The Legendary Super Powers Complete Series
Challenge of the Super Friends Complete First Season
The Bravados
The Comancheros

I see The OC S2 and West Wing S2 in almost every store I've visited, and I saw more Super Bowl sets. If the guy who I sent PayPal money to for Roots comes through, I think I've gotten just about everything I want from the current sales.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

All four Super Bowls have been mentioned before in these threads (I recently went through every page).

I-X
XI-XX
XXI-XXX [only one I've found]
XXXI-XL

Today, I finally found (at District Heights, MD store]:

$3
THX-1138 [2-disc set]
Apollo 13 [2-disc set]
The Right Stuff [2-disc set]
Sweet And Lowdown [wide & full]
A Mighty Wind [with no upc gash]
Sour Grapes [in Amaray case]

plus

$3
Scoop
Hearts in Atlantis
Gosford Park
Casino Royale [MGM, 1967]
Logan's Run [standard & wide]
Day for Night [snapper w/gash]
Dogma
Revenge of Frankenstein
Brainstorm [remastered, 2009]
Valley Girl

They had ONE section with everything piled on top. It was a mess to find anything. New stuff came in while I was there! No boxed sets though. They had the usual Animaniacs, Pinky, OC, West Wing, Joey, Night Court S1 but no Complete Wonder Woman nor ER sets.

Found a restock of the TV DVD's today (and they weren't from the truck that came in today as it was still being unloaded):

Pinky & The Brain V1
Animaniacs V1
Superbowl (didn't really pay attention, but they had 3 or 4 different sets)
Scooby Movies
Thundercats 1 & 3

Still no Dallas! I think that they have more in the backroom and are only bringing it out as the shelf allows. Going back tonight right before they close to see if they put more out.....then back again tomorrow.

Has anyone seen "Ride the High Country" Randolph Scott western in any of the Big Lots stores?

Would love to update my collection with more westerns and older classics, a few box sets would be good as well. Need Magnum PI season 8 to finish that series out, still waiting on the last few of JAG and NCIS. Then Macgyver.

Geez! Your so lucky! I just stopped by my local Big Lots in Central Jersey where I was lucky enough last week to snag Animaniacs V1 and Pinky & The Brain V1, but this time I was disappointed. There was no box sets there, I'm really aching to get the other volume sets of Animaniacs and Pinky as well as the Complete Series of Wonder Woman. The only thing I walked away with was the double feature of "The Boogeyman" & "The Return of the Boogeyman". Oh well, at least I didn't leave empty handed.

The store here got *some* box sets today:

Joey
Dukes of Hazzard S5

West Wing - S2
Scooby Doo

About 12 copies of each. None of the others. :( Maybe later in the week...

I saw a couple in the normal section of DVDs but no motherload... I asked if they were somewhere else or if they were going to put more out... and was told they were in a different section of the store... aaaahhhh...

Snagged
Joey S1
Friends S8 for the wife (Still need S1, S2, S4, & S10)

Also still looking to find Smallville S6 Blu and OC S3 that have been mentioned before...

I asked when they put them out... and they put them out...... YESTERDAY at 6pm... and they told me that they had all but S1 of Friends... and sold them all today.... aaaahhh ... why woudl they tell me they have not put the TV sets out yet if indeed they either just put them out or were in process of putting them out... argh !....
