Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Ah. According to Wiki, we (Canada) haven't had Kmart since 1998, when most of them were turned into Zellers. I plan on going to Zellers soon (which is becoming a Target in a few months... this is getting ridiculous) and checking the DVD's.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Picked up the SyFy miniseries Riverworld for $7.50 on a blind buy. Got home, started researching it, found out it's yet another pilot for yet another attempt at a series that never got off the ground, only a 3 hour pilot that's apparently a LONG 3 hours because of the lack of a decent story. Premise is sound, this pilot apparently isn't. Taking it back next trip to Walmart, I have better things to spend $7.50 on. -kd5-

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Our Super Walmart doesn't have the wire racks for the $5 DVDs anymore, one whole wall is devoted entirely to TV and New Releases, the other is devoted to $13/$10/Childrens, a little section for a few assorted Halloween DVDs (lame), and more TV, and a free standing shelf with more $13 & $10 DVDs. The only $5 DVDs now are in the dump bin and one side of a little rack up by the registers. I dug through them all, still haven't found the Puppetmaster, Vol. 2 DVD.

Kmart still has Vol. 1, but no Vol. 2, plus our Kmart's DVD areas are so disorganized it's painful trying to find anything. -kd5-

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

My Walmart had some of the Halloween DVDs out. However, there was no 6 pack of Children of the Corn or 5 pack of Hellraiser for $5... just the 1st movie of each series for $5. I looked in the section with multi-packs (the Warner stuff especially) and glanced at the $5 bin (too full to spend much time digging in) and saw no multi-packs worth getting. Are people sure these 2 multi-packs are supposed to be on sale for $5 at all Walmarts?

The only thing I bought was TFTC S10 for $10... solely as a backup in case DeepDiscount (AKA to me as Slow As Molasses) never ships my cheaper order of it. Fortunately I've got 90 days. Hopefully even DeepDiscount can get TFTC S10 to me by mid January.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I cannot find the Hellraiser or COTC packs anywhere in the 2 Walmarts in my city... damn it. We do have the Puppetmaster V2 pack last I saw. If anyone is willing to trade, I'll get you a Puppetmaster set if you get me the other 2 (and I'll pay for the other set).

Found a Masters of Horror: 8 Movie Collection in the $5 bin last night. It contains The Faculty, Phantoms, Halloween: H20, Dracula 2000, Dracula 2: Ascension, Cursed, Children of the Corn 5, and Hellraiser: Inferno. Even if I only wanted it for a couple of movies, you can't beat $5.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Is the video quality on the Hellraiser set as good as the separate discs? I.E., did they lower the bit rate to cram 3 movies on 1 dvd?

Ours has a few Midnight Horror Collection sets, but not the Puppet Master ones or anything. Some 8 movie sets, but I've never heard of any of the movies.

I was very pleased to find Piranha (released theatrically as Piranha 3D) in the $5 bin yesterday.

I found one of those as well at the Torrance location, but only one, and it's no longer there. Thanks for the heads-up. I'd never seen any of them, but that seems a fair price.

Ugh. What is your location? I've yet to see any of these seasons of Boy Meets World at a single location near me.

^FWIW, they hit *one* of the stores here a couple of weeks after that post and were cleared out 2-3 weeks later when they did yet another reset of the DVD area.

I looked at 5 different Wal-Marts before I found Vol 2 of the Puppet Master set. Here is a picture of the COTC and Halloween sets. As you can see, there is a $5 price sticker on the COTC set. I've only seen these sets at one Wal-Mart.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I saw at least two of the CotC at the Wal-Mart on Normandie in Torrance, CA but didn't get to look through everything so there might have been more. Didn't see any of the Hellraiser. But saw 2-3 of the 8-10 packs. The 10 pack was easily identifiable as it was double the width of a normal DVD case. These sound like good deals, but I'm not really into horror myself.

Please if anyone sees these for the $5 price and can pick up an extra copy I'd be really grateful.

Also...where are you seeing these?? In bins or on shelves?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I browsed the new, restored, much larger (can hardly reach to the middle) dump bin at my local WM. One title that stood out was:

The 41-Year-Old Virgin who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It

Didn't buy it, but love the title.

It's supposedly a very bad movie, probably in the vein of "Scary Movie" or any of those ___Movie movies.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

These include some king of bundling and all seasons will probably not be available separately. You must select one item from the top box and then you can select other items from the box below. For example on the Heroes bundle, you must select S1,2 or 3 to get S4 for $10. Kinda lame.

30 Rock Season 1,2,3 -- 13.00 each.

Heroes season 1,2,3,4 -- 10.00 each

Muppet Show Season 1,2,3 -- 15.00 each (use at bottom of page)

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ndingMethod=rr

House Season Season 1,2,3,4,5 -- 17.00 each

4.00 DVDs include My Own Worst Enemy S1 and SNL Best of 80's
