2nd confirmation of BN seeing a sign saying Criterion Sale starting June 28 and running through Sunday August 4, 2019.

Didn't coupons not work on the 40% off sale prior to the one that just ended? I wonder if that means coupons might work for the Criterion sale.

Coupons have almost always worked on the 40% sale including the most recent. That has never had an impact on the Criterion Coupon usage.
It's always possible coupon usage will change again, but as I understand it it was more Criterion nixing the coupons than B&N so if it happens it will be a massive surprise. It's just like Bose, Rosetta Stone, Apple etc forcing stores to not allow
discounts beyond a certain level or generic extra coupons to be used.

I assuming if you got the most recent mailer packet with 20% you wouldn't have asked.
July 4th is coming up and almost certainly there will be coupons at least one if not both weekends bracketing the holiday.

I guess a question -- do you know how long he 30% lasts and I'm assuming that;s the in-store price?

If you don;t want to take a chance there seems to be a couple of ways to force a 15% coupon -- using Chrome Incognito or clean cached Internet Edge -- go to BN.com and enter BN.com. Virtually always a popup shows up to offer you a 15% code for entering a new email address.
You literally can enter any legit email address (make one up or gmail dot blind addresses [email protected]) -- usually within a few seconds a 13 digit code will pop up at the top of the page for a 15% one time code that works in-store and online. It says 24 hrs, but I've got some that are literally 9 months old that are still working.

You can make it printable with this template -- just replace the xxx.... with the active 13 digit code, copy and paste

Many people find they sign into their acct and put something in the cart and leave it overnight BN sends an email with an offer for a code. Unfortunately if you click the link and it opens in your regular
browser the code may not show up at the top of the page -- a lot of popup blockers, ad-block, ublockOrigin prevent the code from showing up, but copy the link and open in incognito or Edge or a browser with all the blockers turned off and it shows up. Save the link or email since it's not a one-time use and it generates a different code each time you do it. Now, the codes all are the same batch so you can still only use one per transaction (same batch as the email code too), but that's easy enough to get around

There are a few criterion titles coming out in Aug and Sept I'd like to get. Does the 50% sale cover them as well?

I was in store today and checked the Ship to Home on 2 Aug and 2 Sept releases -- no discounts this year it appears. I guess things possibly might change on Aug 1-2, but I'm not counting on it.

Does anyone ever see B&N gift cards available for better than 17% off (that's what I usually get them for at Cardpool)? I was gonna start watching for them to make sure I have enough for the Criterion sale in November to get Godzilla.

Not a lot better. Even during non Criterion month wipeout 17-19% is about the best I'll seen regularly. I haven;t seen a 20%+ in a long time. Even B&N own Black Friday Gift Card deal -- $10 promo card for $50 is effectively only a 17% deal though I did get lucky with a combined deal last year with the Happy Card introductory discounts at Staples (135 for 150 in B&N compatible Happy Card which is more like a Prepaid Visa) then turned that into 50+10 cards so essentially ended up with $180GC for $135. If had been sure it was going to be as easy as it was I'd have gotten a lot more Happy Cards, but nobody knew how it would work

Did you use the Happy Card online or in-store? I got two and used the first one easily online but I've tried to use the second one online multiple times but it's never worked. I don't have any B&N's really close to me so next time I'm on the road and near one I'll have to try it in-store.

I only used them in-store. I had 3 $50 cards from Staples (I got another from a Publix deal later) -- bought $150 in GC in one purchase, slid the cards through as Credit and it rang up $50 with each just like a Gift Card would have decreasing the balance until it got to Zero.

I was a decent chance at a better coupon before 9/3. Labor Day weekend sometimes has some decent coupons though never been able to predict either Memorial or Labor Day
