Does this mean that WAC titles which are not discounted online are 40% in store for ship to home? And if so, can I use my 30% code too?

Just tried to make a purchase and noticed today's coupon expired at 11:59 AM. FFS.

Indeed. I'll not lose sleep over the additional 5%.

I had no problem using the 30% member coupon or the 25% coupon for Criterions. There was no one on the cash register in the movie/music section (they used to have one person all the time, with two or three at times), and I'm guessing that most people at the main cash register were probably unaware that there is ever a restriction on coupon use for Criterions. It works out to 40.5% with the 25% coupon and the 10% membership discount, if applicable.

Unfortunately, I ran into a very difficult B&N staff at the cash register today. A first, she said I couldn't use the 25% coupon on ship-to-home orders because these orders are equivalent to pre-orders (are you serious? where did B&N find such people?). Then, after being told ship-to-home and pre-orders are two different things (no less by 2 of her own colleagues), she proceeded to read the fine print on the coupon and said it can only be used once per customer (well, that is technically correct, but the code is not unique and clearly reusable). So I decided to just place my orders on line, thus forgoing the 10% membership diso****. Luckily, this is compensated by the gift card sale at the store.

There appears to be a 25% Nonmember Coupon STORE ONLY available. BN Frontpage has a big banner that says "PRINT COUPON" which should mean a generic code, but the emails coming out not are Unique Id codes. I don;t see any new exclusions concerning MOVIES, but I'm not sure what's up right now. Once things clear out in the morning I will try to re-post in new details

I don't like this latest trend by BN to allow a percentage off a total certain amount. I normally don't buy that much at one time to take advantage of it and prefer that they'd stick to the one-item discount.

Hopefully, we'll still see as many of the % off one item coupons as we normally have in the past.

I like to see a combination.

If I still had a membership (mine lapsed in December), the one-item makes sense. Or if the one item exceeds the free shipping minimum.

When it's a smaller item, I like to be able to find several items and get a 15-20% discount on all with free shipping.

So a combination of both types of offers is nice.

I don't really have anything to say, other than remember the company is betting its future on selling $14 grilled cheese sandwiches. This year's bad results are the fruit of seeds planted in the past, like chasing fads (like LP records), depleting store inventory to the point all I see is Not In Stock when I search for things, lack of coupons, higher prices (and lack of online discounts, a stealth price increase), and so on.
