Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only.

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Criterions, Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc.
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Return period is 14 days after delivery though possibly it's 30 days now for most people though there is a discrepancy b/w the receipt and website.
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Single Item 15% OFF, but should be reusable in different transaction and if the Clerks will scan it more than once.

I completely agree. Over the last few months B&N have slowly started cutting back on the regular 15% members coupons. The 25% coupons look like they are gone. I see no point in renewing my membership unless there are more and better member coupons in the future.

The 20% off coupon isn't working with my membership.

edit I guess you can't use it for pre-orders.

There it is in the fine print. I added that to the coupon details on the first page. I assume that was why GaryO may have had problems earlier. B&N seems like they like to change the restrictions with these 20% coupons a lot. The last one you could not use it through the bookstore links.

That really really sucks. Everything I was considering using it on is a pre-order...

It's all about the sale prices. Membership + coupons + sale prices combined can usually make for some decent deals.

Exactly. I just hope B&N is not slowly trying to take it a way with cutting back on coupons.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Laser, I wondered if you had a membership. Are you using any of the links you provide to get additional discounts. I havent been able to get them to stack with membership so I go the fatwallet route which is currently 6% (stopped using live because they cancelled a $2 pay out claiming I had bought the item to resell).

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I do have a members account along with a few non-member accounts. The discounts on the bookstore links will not stack with a membership discount. However the only reason I use them with my membership is if my order is too low for free shipping. The no minimum free shipping outweighs paying for shipping, and getting a rebate through a web site like live.com. Otherwise if it qualifies for free shipping I use Bing.com, or formerly known as Live.com. Until my last order I had good luck with them with rebates. For some reason they never gave me credit on my last purchase. If that continues I will probably switch to another web site for a rebate like fatwallet.

HUH?!?!?! I'd like to hear more about this. How could they possibly think you bought an item to resell, and what would give them the right to cancel a legit payout?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I'm starting to wonder about Bing.com myself after my last experience, and a few negative posts I've seen in the bargains forum. There was another post I saw that mentioned having rebates taken away at B&N because they used a coupon. I should have received a $5 rebate on my last purchase a few weeks ago but never got credit. I thought about contacting them but was worried I may end up losing a few other pending rebates if they looked into it. I hope it is not a sign they are going to become unreliable since the rebates are higher than anywhere else.

Darn it. That's exactly why it didn't work for me, Laser. Thanks for the updated info, folks. Guess I won't be using that coupon. Boy, this store is getting very picky and sparse with it's coupons, so I won't be renewing my membership next time around.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I had my own bad experience with bn.com. I used the visa bookstore link and paid with a mastercard and used a coupon and bought a buy 2 get 1 item and they stripped me of all my discounts. They say its because I used a coupon but I did before. They have a habit of changing prices in orders after they are placed. Their customer service is the same as dvdplanet - very ineffective. I thinking of going to my credit card to dispute it. BN.com and is going on my list of not shopping at for a while. Along with Dvdplanet.com

This story scares me. I will have to watch my orders closely from now on.

Has anyone noticed DVD's being REMOVED from the B2G1F sale? I found 3 titles that I want, and was going to order them with the sale, until I realized that NONE of the 3 titles are eligible for the sale! They don't have the sale symbol by them, and I verified they don't work with the sale. The 3 titles I found are all pre-orders, but all of the other pre-orders I have looked at are included in the sale. These are the 3 titles:
Torchwood Children of Earth BD
Doctor Who Planet of the Dead BD
Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode II

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

kenbenobi,

I think those titles you listed may not qualify because they are pre-orders for items released AFTER the B2G1 ends on 7/7.

Have you found pre-orders releasing afterwards which qualified?

I just looked at a bunch of late July titles, and NONE are available in the sale! You, sir, are a genius! I swear in past years I pre-ordered titles well in advance, but apparently you can't do that anymore. Bummer!!!

Thanks! Seems odd that they didn't take the time to create an actual coupon...

I just gave the coupon a test with a pre-order DVD and it comes up not eligible. I even tried the DVD title you mentioned and it won't work with the coupon. Were any of the other 2 DVDs you ordered in stock? I assume the coupon probably applied the discount on a in stock DVD you had in your cart along with the pre-order title.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Is $106.30 shipped a good price for True Blood S1, John Adams and Woodstock on Blu? It's tempting but I'm wondering if anyone else would, or has, bitten on these prices...

Haha, I used the word "bitten". Get it?

EDIT: I'm biting....and hoping I'll enjoy Woodstock as much as I will the other two series.

Were those prices with a membership? If you haven't ordered yet you may want to get an idea what they would cost at Deep Discount with a 25% discount. If they have their sale next month you might get a better bargain waiting. Also if you have a membership you may want to go through a rebate web site like Bing.com to get 10% more.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks for the tips buddy! I did check out DD's current pricing + 25% off and it was slightly higher than B&N.

I completely forgot about Bing even though I bookmarked the sucker a few days ago. Damn. Probably too late to do anything about it?

If you already ordered it is probably too late. If they are in stock I doubt you could cancel. Even if you can you will lose the coupon.
