Is this true? After my member 10% discount it brings the price to $54. I wanted to check on here first before making any purchases. Any info much appreciated. I'm wanting to save as much as possible and not short myself as a consumer. Any first hand experience/info/knowledge on this much appreciated. I've never had access to any coupons during any past b2g1 free sales.
I had the same problem with a saleswoman during the similar sale last year (who, in addition, questioned the authenticity of my coupon, saying she had never seen one like it "in the four years" she had worked for B&N.) It was solved with a seven-word phrase:

LET - ME - SPEAK - TO - THE - STORE - MANAGER

He came over, followed the directions on the coupon (something the saleswoman refused to do) and I got the extra 15% off the most expensive of the three DVDs.

I then went back a week later with two coupons, planning on buying six DVDs. When two discs turned up OOS, I decided to purchase only three DVDs. When the salesman saw I had two coupons, he offered to use them both on the same purchase. I told him I didn't think that was possible and might even get him into trouble, so he called for the store manager himself, who said "Well, if the computer will let you do it, go ahead." It did, so I got the extra 15% off two DVDs.

It's amazing sometimes the difference in service you can get at the same store.

List updated. The newest stackable $5 coupon is finally active. If you want to use it with the B2G1F sale better hurry since the sale is supposed to end July 7. To clarify that's at 2:59 AM tonight Eastern time.

Thanks, Laser. I'll have to search through the site one last time. I can't think of anything else to buy that I haven't already ordered...

Just wanted to thank you again for keeping us aware of the various B&N coupons, like this latest stackable one. I was able to take advantage of it today to get a couple of nice CDs I had wanted for a while and a newly released DVD I was going to buy at the upcoming DD sale. But with the stackable $5 coupon I was able to get the DVD (which had a nice 30% off discount anyhow) for a better price than I'd have been able to get through DD next week.

Thanks, Laser & velveeta. I used the Visa link plus 10% off coupon to pre-order the Hardware 2-Disc SD for $22.19 (includes tax & free expedited shipping).

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Am I right to surmise that all the 15% off member coupons no longer work for pre-ordered books? D7W4P7N isn't currently allowing this. TIA.

Reading the fine print looks like that one and H7K9W4P exclude pre-orders. It appears M9T8K7U is eligible if you have not used it already. Otherwise if you want to use a coupon on a pre-order you'll have to use a 10% coupon, but I noticed a few of those are also not eligible.

I edited the coupon list noting which coupons are not eligible with pre-orders if that helps.

Very kind of you laser. I couldn't get the popup to work on firefox, oddly, or I would have checked this myself. Thanks as always.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I mentioned this on the bn.com 50% off Criterion thread , but was hoping my fellow regular bn.com buyers might weigh in.

I've had no problems with bing.com/live.com 10% rebates from bn.com through July 9. But since then, several orders aren't showing up at all on bing cashback page.

I use coupons for virtually every order, then and now, along with member discounts.

How is bing.com cashback working for the rest of you recently with bn.com?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I just made a post about Bing in the Criterion thread. I placed two orders on July 6 before the end of the B2G1F sale with coupons and received the rebate credit on July 8. That's typical of most purchases I do through Bing at B&N. I never seem to have the rebate credit show up in my account instantly like I do from some other stores. Overall I've had good luck, but a few times I didn't receive anything even though I was logged in and made the purchase through Bing.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

To my knowledge, I have always received my Bing cashback. Some just posted the other day for one of my orders. But someone had posted some horror stories in this thread or another, so I have heard some bad things about being denied cashback. But I still think it should show up in the account...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks for chiming in folks, I appreciate sharing your data points.

So for the record, as of now does anyone have bing credit for a coupon order placed July 10 or later?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

After July 6 I have not ordered anything since the start of the Criterion sale Monday afternoon. Placed 3 orders Monday July 13 but didn't use Bing, but ran 3 more orders through yesterday July 14 with Bing. I'm not expecting any credit to show up until Thursday or Friday though. All the orders used a coupon.

Thanks to you both. Laser, would you please post a follow-up as soon as you see bing credit on those new orders? TIA.

re: Bing. I am going to use fatwallet - they have double cash back (8%) right now at Barnes and Noble ("Cash Back Sale ends 7/20/09"). I've never had an issue with them.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks for mentioning the FW sale, lena. Sadly, the FW site excludes gift card redemption.

Which, come to think of it, may be what's tripping me up with bing...I'm using all gift cards for those orders.

I've never had a problem using gift cards as the form of payment through ********. Unfortunately, it's currently only 4% back.

Cashbaq.com is probably the nicest of all the sites. They and fatwallet are the biggest success stories for me. Bing and E=bates have not honored mine a few times for various stores.

I wish brandsforless was still around. I still get misty recalling the $30 checks that I would receive for placing a $50 order at Reel.

I just noticed fatwallet.com has 8 percent on Bn.com right now. They have honored all my claims in the past 6 years. I never used Brandsfor less sounds like a great deal.

Those were the days. Jabooming and Freeriding for Amazon gift certificates and BFL for rebate checks.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

A general question as I am new to B&N.

When a coupon expires, is there iusually a new coupon that starts when the old one expires? I used all the 15% coupons and I was wondering if there might be new ones when 2 of them expire on July 20th. Thanks.

I'll have to see what shows up tomorrow and Monday with the coupons, but the 15% coupons have gotten more scarce in recent months. Several months ago you could expect at least two new 15% coupons every week along with a new 10% coupon. Now it is only a weekly 10% with 15% becoming less common. Three is the most we have had in a awhile. Hope I'm wrong but might not see any new 15% coupons until August.

Occasionally there have also been some 20% coupons for all customers but they are few and far between. I would be surprised if one of those showed up during the Criterion sale. If you haven't used the stackable $5 coupon you may want to give it a try since it can take up to $15 off an order.
