Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only.

Mini FAQ

Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Return period is 14 days after delivery though possibly it's 30 days now for most people though there is a discrepancy b/w the receipt and website.
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Since after both the sale discount and my member discount it brings the price to below $15.00.......I'm wondering if it will make the coupon not work/invalid? Or does the DVD just have to be over $15.00 on the sticker price regardless of any sale and or member discounts? Each time I've used this coupon, I've never had a price after all discounts below $15.75 before applying the $5.00 off coupon. I'm wondering with price after all discounts being $12.60 on this item (below $15.00) if the $5.00 off coupon will or will not work? Any and all info is much appreciated. Thanks.
Unless B&N made some changes to the coupon I'm unaware of the price for it to work should be $15 before members discount on DVDs. If a members discount takes the price under $15 you should still get it to apply $5 off the order total. If the price you stated is $14 before a members discount it would fall below the coupon's minimum requirements, and the DVD would not qualify. The price after applying the coupon is irrelevant. I recently purchased the Three Stooges Collection, Volume 5 and the amount after the coupon applied was only $10.74 after the $5 discount was subtracted.

Finally you can't lose a coupon, or have it become invalid unless you actually complete an order. I frequently test coupons with my account by submitting and removing, and have no problem using them later when I'm ready to place an order. Just make sure to use it before the expiration date, then it's too late.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Laser, if I understand correctly the 30% off promo on the $20 dvd which will bring the price to $14 before the member card discount is even taken off makes this ineligible for the $5 coupon to work and or be used?

I was hoping to pick up the DVD for $7.60 after using the $5 coupon

That won't work. The least expensive an item could possibly be using the $5 coupon is $8.50. That would be if you find an item that is exactly $15 before the member discount. $15 - $1.50 (10%) - $5 = $8.50

The DVD is under the $15 minimum selling price, so it would be ineligible. The DVD would have to increase in price by a dollar for the $5 coupon to work. You'll either have to wait for a price increase or use a different coupon from the list.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Laser and Kenbenobi, thanks for the info. I'll probaly use the 15% coupon which will still get me a price that I will be very happy with. I appreciate both of your help in giving me more clarity on the rules of this coupon.
I have used the coupon a few times now. But I had a gut feeling I should double check in here before going to use it on this particular item, with it being on sale.

No problem. It never hurts to ask! Just keep in mind that each coupon can only be used once. But we have a lot of current 15% coupons, so you should be in good shape...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

As a non-member it looks like the best deal for me is the NSCS Bookstore link (10% off, which ends today) and another 10% off coupon code. Am I correct or am I missing out on some more savings? I just want to be sure before I place an order. Are there ever codes for more than 10% off (for non-members)? And I can only use one coupon code right?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm looking to buy a box set and I just want to make sure I'm getting the best deal possible.

If your order qualifies for free shipping it would be the best link to use, otherwise I would suggest the military.com link since it gives no minimum free shipping along with a 6% discount. If you get a shipping charge it would negate any savings at the 10% link. To save anymore money would require a membership, or getting a B&N Mastercard.

Occasionally B&N does offer better coupons for non-members but that is usually around the holidays. The B&N Mastercard 20% code is technically a non-member code but it may not work with most credit cards. You can use each coupon code only once per order on a B&N account. However you can create extra accounts to use them multiple times.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks for replying so quickly. Yes, my order already qualifies for the free shipping so that's why I went with the NSCS link. I'm looking to buy The Michael Haneke Collection and with the link and coupon code the price comes to $51.63 (w/tax). I haven't seen it cheaper...and with the extra saving through the link expiring today and the art house sale ending soon I may not see it this cheap for some time. Thanks again

Sounds good to me! Combine it with a coupon and members discounts, and there might actually be some decent prices!

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks, I just placed two orders. Ordered Event Horizon with the $5 off coupon for $11.82, then ordered Baron Munchausen with the military link for 6% off, plus the 20% B&N MC coupon for $13.80. I didn't want to waste that coupon on my member account for such an inexpensive item... Plus I'll get 5% off of each order from my B&N Mastercard!

EDIT: I forgot there are TWO active $5 coupons right now. Oh well. I'll probably find another one to get...

Working Advantage is having a TRIPLE discount day this Wednesday, 4/15. So the discount will be 15% off!!! Keep in mind there is no free shipping for orders below $25, but for orders $25+ this will be the best deal. Make sure you use a coupon as well!
http://www.bn.com/workingadvantage

If anyone finds any super bargains, please post them here. I'm always looking for suggestions on what to buy!

Ken...are you able to stack another 10% coupon w/ that Working Advantage link. I'm not a member if that matters.

Yes, you can stack coupons with the discount links. If you were a member, that discount does not stack. But of course, members have better coupons available to use... I plan on stacking the 20% MC coupon with it, which I can use multiple times if I use multiple accounts...

Nice, thanks. I don't think I'm eligible for the MC 20%, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.

It's listed on the first page with the other coupons. Scroll down to the non-member coupon section and it should be at the top of the list.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Just a warning about the Mastercard coupon. You need to have the MC listed as your method of payment BEFORE you input the coupon code, otherwise it will tell you the coupon is invalid. But once you link the B&N MC as your payment method, the coupon will work. And if you want to use it multiple times, just create multiple accounts (different email address, but everything else can be the same)

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

The 15% Working Advantage discount is LIVE!!! I just placed one order, and will place more. I actually used the $5 off coupon for the full $15 off. I know Laser mentioned it could be done, but I never did it before. I bought:
All I Ever Wanted Kelly Clarkson CD
Online Price: $13.29 -$7.00 = $6.29 (with $5 off)
Moonlight - The Complete Series DVD - Wide Screen
Online Price: $27.99 -$9.20 = $18.79 (with $5 off)
Clear and Present Danger/the Hunt for Red October Blu-ray - Wide Screen
Online Price: $22.19 -$3.33 = $18.86

Shipment Subtotal: $43.94
Shipping & Handling: FREE
Sales Tax: $2.18

Shipment Total: $46.12
Order Discounts: -$5.00
ORDER TOTAL: $41.12

Yes you can stack all the offers listed on the coupon details to get $5 off each one. There are also a couple of B1G1 free offers that can also be added.

However my question is if the 15% discount is over riding the 10% members discount with the $5 off coupons? I thought if you logged in with a members account it might negate the 15% offer. I'm going to have to look for some things to buy if it does. Actually I wonder if you would save more by going through live.com since you can stack a 10% members discount with the 10% rebate they offer. I guess I will have to find something to buy and figure it out.
