Were those the only discounted titles you saw in store? Some of those are showing up online at a much higher price. So it doesn't appear all the same titles are available in store or online at a discounted price.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

The only ones that I really paid much attention to were the 40% off titles (50% came by adding my 10% member discount to it). All of the above "$16.19" you listed were included, priced at $29.99, coming to around $15 after all the discounts. They had a whole bunch of em at the same price. They gave me a few sheets from their sheets with everything listed, but I don't remember all of it. I'd say it was 20-30 titles at the 40% off, with lots more from 10% to 30% off as well. Here's just two more I remember off the top of my head:

-Hulk Vs.
-U2 Rattle & Hum

Thanks! I'll have to go to my local B&N store to check out the selection of titles available. I think I may try going tomorrow. I'll have to print out some coupons just in case I find anything I want to purchase. This would be a good coupon to use if they will accept it.

They have a 40 percent off art house sale right now. Might be some good deals.

Laser, thanks for posting those coupons. Was able to purchase some older Kino releases with the art house sale going on right now. BTW, were you able to use the $5 off any DVD coupon outside of the states specified?

Never got the chance to try and use the coupon. I went to my local B&N store looking for Blu-ray titles on sale but didn't find anything I wanted.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Laser, I want to continue to thank you for each and every update to this thread. As many of you know, I took out a membership in May of last year in order to get in on some great sales going at the time. Now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll see a similar sale before my membership ends. Specifically, I'm looking for a 40% Off CBS/Paramount TV shows sale. I can save some serious money on numerous titles I'm looking to pick up if that sale will happen by May. Keeping fingers crossed it happens.

FYI, thats not how it works.

The additional 10% member discount comes off the final price (after other sales, discounts, etc). For example, if you were buying $100 worth of stuff at 40% off, it would be an additional $6 (10% of $60), not $10. Not a big difference, just FYI.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I can confirm that the $5 off DVD coupon was able to work outside of the states specified on the coupon (used in North Carolina). Cashier took the coupon and it scanned just like any other.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I noticed B&N currently has a decent price on a few seasons of Quantum Leap. They have seasons 3, 4, and 5 currently for $22.49 members price. Use one of the $5 off coupons and you can get one for $17.49 shipped using the military.com link. Not quite as good as the Amazon.ca deal if you purchase all the seasons but not too bad a price if you only need a season or two.

Some Blu-rays are 40% off online, dropping the price to $15.65 w/member's discount, $10.65 after using the $5 off coupon.

There are 2 active $5 coupons on the list. I recently added a new one last week that replaced another that had expired March 2. Hopefully B&N will keep issuing these, but the next new one isn't due for about a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the blu-ray list. There is one title I'm mildly interested in if I can get it the same price in store or can do a ship to home order with a printable coupon. I only have one more $5 online coupon available but I planned on using it for something else.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I just received a B&N membership card as a gift last week. I have some questions for those of you who have or have had a membership. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Does B&N frown upon a customer using a coupon (10%, 15%, Etc.) combined with the 10% off the membership card itself provides multiple times? For example, I make like three copies of a current 15% off coupon and I make three different purchases using the coupon and the card. Are they going to let me do this? Or will the sales clerk tell me that it shows on her register that I have already used that coupon? Another reason I ask, is that my GF who bought me the card said she could use it too and other family members can as well. She gets coupons in her e-mail from them every once in awhile and obviously might want to make a purchase using both the card and coupon? I just do not want to do anything that would get my membership cancelled or be that guy getting a lecture from some sales clerk about "coupon rules".

Any info, tips, knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

As far as coupon purchases work, they can only allow one coupon per transaction. You can however, use the coupon as many times as you like as the registers have no current way of tracking the coupons you use. If you are using the coupon online, you can only make one use of each coupon. Your GF or anyone else for that matter can almost always take advantage of the BN Card simply by giving them your phone number at checkout. They can also use the coupons as well.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Received this offer in my email today. Looks like with the coupon it would still qualify for free shipping, so you could go through live.com cashback to earn an additional 8% off. You can get a slightly better price if you use either one of the $5 coupons, or the 20% B&N Matercard coupon.

B&N members get Pinocchio on Blu-ray for $21.59 with the following coupons. Good either online or in store. Enter code K7A7P3C at checkout. This offer expires March 16, 2009.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I just noticed on my last order the 'Order Total' was 8.09 but the next line had 'Your credit card will be charged' 8.63, has anybody else had this happen?

Yes I had the same thing happen last year in November on a order. It was caused by a glitch with a coupon. Did you use a coupon and remember which one? If you post the coupon it may at least help someone else avoid having the same problem. If it is a faulty coupon I can remove it from the list, or post a warning if it has not expired yet. In my case I don't remember seeing the price difference until after I completed placing the order on the web site.

Also I should add I had one hell of of time getting a refund from B&N for the error. I didn't want to let it slide since I was charged $5 more than I was supposed to on the order. When I called customer service to explain what happened they couldn't see the order like it was on my account page with the price discrepancy. I finally had to take a screen capture of the page and send it to the CSR I was speaking with so he could actually see what I was seeing. Once he saw what I was talking about I got my refund.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

It was a 10% non-member code for sure, I think it was P4U7J8J. I was also using a free shipping link, the military one I think?

I'm not going to bother trying to straighten it out as it's only $.54 and I'll get $.04 of that back from my B&N card discount.

Thanks, guess in the future I'll have to keep an eye on these things before clicking 'place order'.

I'm obviously missing something...according to your OP, aren't these coupons only available if you renewed a membership recently? These last few posts make it sound like anyone can use them. (BTW, are they good only on DVDs?)

Any clarification much appreciated. TIA.

If you read the coupon fine print they are not actually renewal coupons. They are supposed to be valid with new membership purchases made at select stores listed in the coupon details.

Since there is an online code there seems to be no restrictions on who can use them as long as you have a membership that has not expired. There are also printable store coupons but your mileage may vary on which stores accept them since the fine print has restrictions on store location. However DealBreaker2009 on post #414 claimed to have success using a printable coupon at a store not listed.

The coupons work with DVDs with a $15 minimum, CDs with a $10 minimum, and other purchases of $40 or more. The minimum prices seem to be before members discounts are applied. I think these coupons are very good for DVDs in the $15 to $25 range.

Because the coupons are different compared to the normal B&N coupons, and are related to purchasing memberships, I decided to put them in the renewal section.
