Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I didn't have anything more to get so my wife got two $40 books for a total of $32+tax.

Used seven 50% off coupons in total. One of the best deals ever.

Successfully stacked both 50% coupons today and bought the Blu-ray DigiBooks of "Hamlet," "King Kong," and "The Color Purple" for $33.37. Not bad.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I did the Star Wars Saga for 45+ (Before Tax) and Lost in Translation for 9+ (BT). I would have rather gotten Star Wars IV - VI and called it a day but at that price it's not like the other films are costing me much. I didn't do the B2G1 simply because I really couldn't think of three titles I really needed. That will probably come to me tomorrow after the coupon has expired.

Thanks to LASERMOVIES for posting the coupons and to all those posting suggestions.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I absolutely murdered the coupon today. Before today, I had used it 6 times each at two different stores. Today I drove around town, hitting 3 different stores.
Store #1) Got the same cashier for the 3rd time, so I knew it would be easy. She let me get two in-stock titles plus one Ship-to-Home. I got Twilight Zone S1, S2, and S3 on BD for $81.25 after tax, coupons and B&N MC discount. In the excitement, I forgot to try to use the $5 off $50 coupon. Oh well.
Then I went to customer service and pre-ordered Simpsons World, the $150 book, for $39!!!
Store #2: First time to this store in over a year, since it is far away. Their BD stock was TERRIBLE. I got two Doctor Who DVD's and Mutant Chronicles BD for $22.50 with discounts and tax. The cashier was hesitant to use both coupons, but I used my charm and she did.
Store #3: As soon as I walked into the media department, I knew I was screwed. The dept. supervisor was working. I politely asked him if I could do 3 ship-to-home orders combined with the coupon. He said yes. I knew he was going to shut me down on using two coupons, so I ordered cheap titles like Chaplin BD, Last Unicorn BD, and Doctor Who A Christmas Story BD. As I predicted, he wouldn't allow two coupons. But he did take off the middle-priced item as the freebie, instead of the lowest one, so it's still a minor victory. $25 with discounts and tax.
Before leaving, I still had 2 coupons left, so I bought The Muppet Show Monopoly and another Star Wars 2GB Flash Drive (Boba Fett) for $27 with tax and discounts. She took both coupons without a problem, but was SHOCKED that both were 50% off. She said the 50% off coupon is so rare!

All in all, I used 20 of the 50% off coupons. My credit card statement will be fugly, but damn I saved a lot! I just hope B&N.com doesn't try canceling any of my ship to home orders, like Star Wars BD. They have done it to me before!!!

The sad part? I still have a dozen titles on my list that I wanted to use the coupon on, but I wasn't going to try to use 4 coupons in the media department at the same time. I don't want them to ban me or anything...

Are you sure you printed the right coupon? ALL of the member coupons start with a 1. For the member coupons, the 5th digit is the one that determines the discount, not the first digit. 101311 would have been the 50% off member coupon.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I used 4 coupons today on 2 B2G1 deals. I wasn't planning on the second batch but couldn't help myself when the guy agreed to take 2 50% off coupons on the first order. On the second order, I only had one coupon with me so I told him I needed to go to the car but he told me not to worry about it and took 50% off on the second item anyway. He's a great guy. I always end up staying longer than I expect when he's there because we always talk about films. He's very knowledgeable and helpful. Anyway...I ended up with Despicable Me BD for the wife and 5 Criterions.
For some reason I thought the coupon ended tomorrow; I wanted to go back and order a couple of books. Too late now.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I've got to say, this was possibly the best deal B&N has ever offered (albeit unintended). The super rare 50% off coupons, combined with the B2G1F deal, made for an absolutely smoking deal. HUGE thanks to B&N, and to Lasermovies for finding all of the coupon codes. I swear Laser, you find them first, and the rest of the internet copies you and spreads them like wildfire. You are truly the B&N coupon king...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Used three more 50% off coupons today. One on a book, and two on a B2G1 Blu-ray combo. I'm at the point now in my collecting where I have everything I want (that's out), so it was tough to find two extra titles to go with my Metropolis.

kenbenobi, you were able to get Twilight Zone: Season 3 for free as part of the promotion even though it was a pre-order?

I'm positive. I have a feeling the NYC stores got wind of something cause not a single one accepted coupons. I know I printed the 101311 coupon and it was definitely 30%. Just seems odd that not a single store stacked coupons and the different percentage for the coupon.

Seriously though, this is why I don't pay for a membership anymore. BN.com truly sucks. They cancel orders left and right, and getting their CS people to help you is nearly impossible. I like shopping in the stores, and love the coupons, but bn.com blows... I'm on hold with them right now...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks for all your help everyone. I went today and got Venture Bros Season 4 V 1, V 2, and Police Squad for $30 using a $5 coupon and a 50% off coupon. My membership wasn't activated yet, so the manager said I can come back within 30 days and she would apply the discount if I bring the receipt. I got The Walking Dead Omnibus Volume 3 Signed and Number for $52.XX including tax! That book has a retail of $150!!!!

34 minutes on hold, but no resolution. The rep sees that a cancellation email was sent, but doesn't know why. She doesn't show that it has been canceled, but she also said that may not update right away. If anyone else has a Ship To Home issue, call 800-962-6177 instead of the normal 800#. I got transferred, which added to the length of my hold time... That # is ONLY for Ship To Home orders though. They won't be able to help you with bn.com orders...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Man, I'd really like to get the Twilight Zone Seasons on Blu-ray for that price, but I've already spent more than I should have. Hopefully we see another deal like this at some point in the future.

Luckily, my only ship-to-home order is scheduled to ship, so it doesn't look as though I'll run into any problems.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I just got a cancellation e-mail as well. It was a pre-order for exactly one item. However, at the bottom of the e-mail it says, "The remaining item(s) is expected to ship as promised:" and it goes on to show the one item. Sooooo, am I canceled or not?

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Mine was scheduled to ship first, then canceled after...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

FYI, I have also started to receive INCORRECT charges on my c/c from previous bn.com orders. If anyone placed online orders in the last week or two, you may want to verify your charges. They are higher than what my online order states. I'll have to call them again tomorrow... Figures that I'd notice this 5 minutes after getting off the phone with them. I don't feel like waiting on hold again tonight...

I would fear the worst... You may want to call that 800# I posted, assuming yours was a ship to home order...

I used the 50% coupon successfully in several NYC stores. However, while I was browsing books at the Greenwich Village store, I heard one employee (a manager?) stationed at Information tell another employee that he just found out that someone had posted the 50% off coupon online and that people were printing it out and using it on high-ticket items (he specifically mentioned the Star Wars Blu-Ray pre-order and the Calvin & Hobbes book). He said a guy had just tried to use the coupon and that he had shot him down. He then said something like, "If someone tries to use the 50% coupon, write down their member number. There aren't supposed to be a lot of them out so pretty much if someone has one they're not supposed to." At that point I just put down the books I was looking at and walked out of the store.

The C&H box was cheaper last week online combined with the 20% off coupon.
