Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Saw a couple of the Warner Gangster #3 box set for $23.99 at the Sherman Oaks location, but not much else. The section was almost empty, people must be doing all their DVD shopping at Ross now.

I saw two copies of this at the Phoenix, AZ Ross I sometimes go to. Great deal, although Amazon has it for four dollars less.

FYI, the wholesale just dropped on the overstocks of Warner Gangsters 3 & 4 & the Clark Gable Signature. Watch for price drops at overstock retail in 1-3 weeks.

Cleopatra died for Egypt, what a waste of time.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Would love to find that CLEOPATRA set. I have the DeMille Box, also bought at Ross, but it doesn't have any of the extras that the separate CLEO has. Nor probably the remastered transfer.

Hit the Ross on 17/92 in Sanford FL last night. They had one copy of Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 6. Someone had removed the shrink wrap. I ask at the counter if I could check to make sure all the disc were there and how much it cost. Everything was included and untouched. They rang it up for $5.00 plus tax.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

went to Ross and got:

I pick up Rio Bravo (Ultimate Collector's Edition) (1959) for $7.99 and plenty of it
http://www.amazon.com/Rio-Bravo-Two-...d_rhf_gw_p_t_3

and also pick up The Net (Special Edition) (1995) for 3.99 - I saw it in Big Lots for $5 and I decide to buy it later and today lucky me got it $3.99.

also saw Superman Ultimate Collection for (I don't remember how much but it can be $39.99 or $49.99).

Just wait, within a few weeks it'll be full of Veggie Tales, random episodes of TV shows no one has ever wanted on DVD, every badly produced Biblical movie or show ever made, and Fullscreen versions of movies that were originally shot in Cinemascope. Oh, and movies that Walmart wouldn't carry.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned (it probably has) but I found the two-disc edition of Top Gun with the bomber jacket slipcase for $4.99.

That RIO BRAVO set is spectacular. I don't care if the movie is on Blu Ray, the box set is still worth owning. One of the finest DVD packages ever assembled.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

has anyone else seen the Shakespeare box for $23.99? My Ross had three. there are four movies:Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet (two disk), Laurence Oliver's Othello, the classic Midsummer Night's Dream with Mickey Rooney and I think it was Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet.

I've seen multiple copies in the Ross stores here in Honolulu...even when culture can be had for this little most people opt for simple minded, easy to digest swill.

Off to watch Jackass 3!
