Just received my order of Constantine 2 Disk w/Comic Special Edition. Opened it up and noticed I had no disks, and instead had a Schindler's List Booklet Inside. Sent an email so we will see what happens. Seems Like alot of the same problems with others.

I got my last order, which was rather large, and it was almost all in mint condition. I still haven't received word back on the From the Earth to the Moon missing disks, so i sent another e-mail with as much info as i could possibly give. I better get an e-mail tomorrow or i might have to start calling stores.

Macdadda: check your invoice, was yours packed by: M Cruz
or did it have QA check by: 9449 or 9444. I couldn't tell if it was a 9 or 4 at the end. If it was then we might be able to figure out if someone is just stealing disks.

Mine was packed by A. Sanchez and the QA check just has the date of 10-14-05 so not sure what to make of that one.

I received my shipment just days after placing the order, the used Ultimate Scream set came sealed and in near perfect condition. I don't know if I'd place future orders with these guys though, it seems screw-ups are common.

I ordered on the 13th and just got mine today via usps media mail.

Of course, they shipped the wrong edition of everything I ordered. Anyone know if there is any kind of contact number for them?

I just got an e-mail back from them saying that they are putting the cost of From the Earth to the Moon back onto my Credit card. Its nice that they did that, but i'm bummed out a little because i've wanted to see it and they couldn't replace it. Good news is that i got to keep the From the Earth to the Moon Box! YAY!

seems like 'screwups' is their middle name. I ordered a Collector's edition of Dirty Dozen and was sent the regular edition. I ordered the Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition (with the shiny silver jacket thats now OOP) - I was sent the DVD without the silver jacket. I ordered the Schindler's list Collectors Edition - the case was almost in pieces when I received it. Returned all of them and they refunded me but with lesser sales tax credit and without shipping credit. Emailed them once again - they corrected the sales tax credit and gave me shipping credit but credited the whole amount twice. I was sent another email saying that they had re-charged my card because of this error. If you are confused, relax, so am I. These guys dont know what they are doing.

My shipment of a used Gone with the Wind 4-disc collector's edition arrived in such bad condition it was almost laughable (considering their so-called tough standards for accepting used DVD's). The box was torn, and inside, the plastic that holds the DVD's was so shattered that there was hardly anything left of it. Really pathetic. Needless to say, I sent it back for credit.

My Scream Trilogy boxset that I received today was in better condition--I'd give it about a B+. But for $10 for the boxset, I don't mind. But in retrospect, I should have just ordered a classic like GWTW new in the first place. All in all, my orders from wherehouse have been pretty good. I am still waiting for my last shipment from them that shipped media mail like 2 weeks ago. Don't know where the heck the package is, and neither do they.

I am starting to receive my orders, and they are nothing but trouble as well. Jerky Boys 2 CD was the censored version (I can't believe they even made this). Band of Outsiders Criterion was an obvious bootleg. Simpsons season 3 had 2 disc 1 discs and no disc 3. What a pain in the goddamn ass.

wewantflair,
if wherehouse lets you keep your incomplete Simpsons S3, can i pay you for shipping and get disc 4? i ended up w/ two disc 2's and no disc 4 (like your situation). lmk. my email is ironxman99[AT]gmail.com

i realized that ordering used dvd's from wherehouse.com isn't really worth it, at least for me. too much hassle and most items i received weren't "like-new"

Perhaps I should consider myself lucky...

I've ordered 51 different DVD's from these guys since I first saw this thread, in 6 different orders. ALL used titles. And I've only had one bum disc---"House On Haunted Hill"---I ordered the WB release in WS, and got a Brentwood dollar DVD version (in FF) instead...but I don't blame them entirely, since I should have known better than to order a PD title in the first place. I got two of the "Coffin Joe" movies, and they both had the reprint 36 page comic book included, the Final Countdown ltd ed had the awesome 3-D front cover insert...the stuff showed up in excellent condition, structurally sound. If I wasn't completely drained financially I'd probably give them another shot before the sale ends(ed), and if the code still works on Wednesday...I know the first code lasted on used titles for a few days after the alleged expiration date.

No way would I order ANYTHING new from them, but the discount really made used titles quite reasonably priced, especially after they started charging less for shipping a couple of weeks after the sale started. It sucks that they are screwing some folks over with multiple/missing discs in box sets, beat up packages, etc...but KUDOS to the original poster, VERY much appreciated here.

Holy.

Crap.

This sounds like one huge screwup, so hopefully more than a few morons will lose their job over so many mistakes. I'm just thankful that I decided not to order anything, and I know now to just ignore any future Wherehouse.com threads. Well, before I do that, how have they be in the past with a sale such as this? Is this a really rare screwup, or what?

illennium, if you are out there, let us know how your orders are doing. I know you ordered a boatload of stuff, and quite a few Criterions, so I'd like to know if things have turned out any better for you.

Good luck everyone!

I placed four orders consisting of 30 titles..mostly used but some new, with the exception of one title that was originally in a 2 disc case moved to a 1 disc and the art SQUASHED in the process, and my mistake of ordering a "rated" version instead of a "unrated" (which they took back, for free, and credited my CC), and a missing insert here and there (I think two tv shows had no inserts)...I had no problems whatsoever...I got in really early when this sale started..so maybe extra volume caused some problems...I'd never buy new items from this place, but as others have pointed out, the discount with the used items made buying (and taking a risk) worthwhile..

I got some new stuff from them - CD's and DVD's - and am quite pleased. The prices on many things is not good but on some there were some deals, especially with the 33% off on top of it. That made certain items less than even special sales like CC's 9.99 CD's (that is if CC had them in stock! ). I basically cherry-picked my stuff since there were things I wanted but the prices were no where near elsewhere.

I'm exactly the opposite. I'd never chance buying used from an online store. But yeah, I placed two orders of new merch and everything arrived quickly and in pefect condition.

Some of those swapped-out cases and missing inserts may have been mine. Sorry.

So you wouldn't chance buying used ... because you sell them used stuff that's not in nice condition?

I understand there's always a risk buying used from wherehouse.com, but I had nothing but good experiences with them during the sale. All the criterion titles I purchased from them came in near mint condition. And of all the other titles I purchased, the only set that came in unsatisfactory condition was a smallville season, which they promptly credited my account without even requiring me to send it back. Customer service was top notch the whole way through. And on top of that, living so close by, I usually received my order the next day. I'll definitely be looking forward to the next sale, if and when they ever have one.

My discs and art are always in pefect condition - it's everyone else I'm worried about. I've gotten burned buying used at B&M before, I'm just assuming it would be more of a hassle if that were to happen from an online purchase. (mailing it back, waiting for reply's, etc)
