So has anyone noticed the $50 mail in rebate on some of the WB titles like Friends and Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill? If I send that in, I actually make money??? Is there any reason not to send it in?

6 DVDs @ 6.50ish (tax) is $39 - $50= I make $11

gfoots 08-10-05 01:15 AM

I forgot to say that the Harry Potter six disc collection, which was marked at $42.99, scanned at $32.99. Not on the level of the rest of these bargains, but if you are in the store anyway, you might check it out.

For those of you looking for an Orange County, CA update, I've been shut out at all of the following locations:

Both Irvine Targets had everything on their shelves, but full price.
Santa Ana (off Bristol, near South Coast) also had everything stocked, but full price.
Costa Mesa (off Harbor) the items were either pulled off the shelves or they had already been wiped out.

Granted, I've only really been checking for BoB, Friends, S&TC, and Sopranos.

Anyone had any luck at Target in Oregon?

Which means we were there at the EXACT same time. (I was the idiot with the Sealab DVDs in hand, hoping against hope that THEY had somehow been marked down. LOL.)

The Target in Medford, Oregon next to the Rogue Valley Mall was a dud. I'm going back tomorrow to double check, but I wouldn't count on it as I scanned about 90% of the items listed here. Sadly, there is no other Target located near Medford except for that one. =/ My sister was in Redding California today but I forgot to tell her to look and it was too late, she was already in Oregon. =| Lemme know if you have any luck in any of the Targets in Oregon though.

I'll be checking the one in Albany first thing in the morning. If you don't here back from me, you'll know it was a no go.

I'll check the one in Salem and since I am heading to Fry's I'll go to the one in Wilsonville in the morning.

Newport News VA was also a dud

My fiance and I went back to the Brooklyn, NY store for the 4th time yesterday and they were picked clean, but there was still one there I wanted ringing up at $5.99...but we have to go run some errands today, so we're gunna take a little road trip into Jersey and check those out, too.

Hello Hello 08-10-05 06:26 AM

Last night, I tried the target on route 202 in Wilmington, DE. I scanned 20+ sets and no go. But I didn't try sex and friends (no interest), or BOB couldn't find. I wonder how many targets will find carts full of dvd box sets near their scanners.

sotra 08-10-05 07:20 AM

Thanks OP :) Got a few of these (not the most popular ones, but who cares since I have gotten a ton of other things on really good clearance at Target over the years) including Macgyver Seasons 1 and 2, Johnny Carson and Moonlighting at the Hadley Target in MA. Holyoke didn't have any.
Willing to trade. Please see my post in the trades thread.
Also, for those of you that had/have any problems with buying the boxsets once you get to the register - just print out the price from the scanner (option A) and that guarantees it no matter what. They didn't want to sell them to me at $5.99, but once I showed those they had to.

BDub 08-10-05 07:43 AM

Could this still be going on if people didn't haul 10, 15, 20 sets to the register?

JohnBeas 08-10-05 07:49 AM

No go in Kalamazoo, MI (W. Main)!

Dr. D 08-10-05 08:01 AM

I checked the one in the Bronx (225th St) last night and the deal was not on, and I checked the one in Mt Vernon, NY off the Hutchinson Parkway this morning and they also had nothing on for $5.97. But both stores had significant stock of all the titles mentioned (including Band of Brothers) so I am guessing that they never had the deal goign at these stores or they would have been picked clean as other posters have mentioned.

Cptkirk 08-10-05 08:05 AM

I stopped by our local target and was able to pick up Looney tune 2nd series, BAtman season 3, the fantastic four cartoon series and Hogan's Heroes (guilty pleasure even though it is probably one of the worst concepts for a tv series) all for 5.99. I saw that Little house on the prarie s1, Magnum PI S2, Miami Vice S1, Moonlighting S1&2 were all $5.99.

Sapranos and band of brothers were all regular price.

shadowhawk2020 08-10-05 08:14 AM

If anyone is willing to pick up the Newsradio sets for me I would be willing to work something out...

Shadow

I tried scanning O.C. Season 1 (no Macguyver) at 2 Targets and they came up $54.99. They were the one on Crain Hwy in Glen Burnie and the one on Ritchie Hwy in Glen Burnie.

kornfreak 08-10-05 08:39 AM

no go at the beavercreek ohio, or ketting ohio ones. I'm off to the centerville one in a bit.

Shagrath 08-10-05 08:55 AM

Just got back from 2 Targets here in Orlando that were running the misprices yesterday. The one on Colonial, and the one at Mall of Millenia.

I got to the Colonial one three times yesterday and they were pretty picked over by closing, but I thought they might restock during the night or whatnot. Anyways, I got there right at opening and when I got back to the dvds, I saw a red-shirt grabbing boxsets and taking them over to the price-scanner, so I knew it was dead then.

Then I ran over to the Mall of Millenia location, and same deal, there was a red-shirt with a scanner putting sets in a shopping cart. I looked in there and saw 1 BoB, and The L Word along with MASH and some others. I'm kinda pissed that I didn't think to take the highway to get there because rushhour traffic was pretty bad on the main roads, and I probably could've gotten there quick enough to grab a couple of sets. Oh well.

I did make out with 20+ sets yesterday though, so kudos to the OP for finding out about this!

fitzcain 08-10-05 08:59 AM

has any one checked out wheaton, maryland as yet? The stores a bit out of my way, but its always a mess and if any store hasnt fixed it yet it would be that one......

fitzcain 08-10-05 09:01 AM

i was able to get a few sets yesterday, and made sure to pay cash, so they cant pull a blockbuster on me.....(charge your card later for the dif)

joltman 08-10-05 09:05 AM

Checked the Target here in York, PA, checked Jaws, a couple Friends sets, BoB, Gilmore Girls, and Sealab all to no avail. There is another Target about 20 min away, but I don't think I'll be able to get out and check that one. If anyone could pick me up the FF or Looney Tunes sets at the $5.99 price, I'd gladly pay for the total + shipping!

Jersey City store shelves have been cleared... and BoB rang up at regular price. So, I think that one's not worth it.
