Has anyone found a Target in the Northern Virginia/DC MEtro Area that hasn't been raided? Thanks for any info.

I tried the Target in Largo, MD, today. No go there.

I couldn't find anything in MA or NH locations. I hit three of them on Tuesday, but had no luck...of course I didn't sit there and scan every single thing. Just the ones that I wanted the most

Ditto for me all over Austin. In addition to the 3 stores mentioned by an earlier poster that came up empty (Lakeline, 183 & Ohlen and Capitol Plaza), I came up empty at Brodie, Lamar & 71, I35 & William Cannon, I35 & Braker, and Round Rock. I tried at least 2 trips' worth of full baskets to the scanners at each store I checked out, but didn't get any hits. I'm guessing some of these stores had the price error early on, but were corrected quickly since several were sold out of several seasons' worth of Friends and SatC.

The Target in Bowie is a no go too.
I did see at a couple of Tagets in my area that Deadwood Season 1 was scanning @ 32.99 but the shelf tag was around $80.00. I don't know if its a good price or not as i dont know much about it. $80 for any tv shows' seasons seems way too high, like on the Sopranos sets. $33 is too much for a title i don't know much about but i figured some of you all may be interested. it may not yet be caught by most Targets if thet're only looking for the $5.99 misprices.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get in on the deal, but I'm also glad to hear it. I'm on vacation in South Carolina...and I go to Texas State in San Marcos. I was a bit pissed that I wasn't in town when this news broke. With my car, I'd have had easy access to 6 or 7 Targets in San Marcos and Austin. Instead, I was stuck here without access to a car for 3 days (went last night to two stores, one had the deal but, according to the red-shirt after I asked if there were any copies of BoB in the back, had gotten a letter from corporate and cleared the shelves). I ended up scoring a $5.99 Jaws upgrade and passing on Pocahontas since I already owned it. Struck out otherwise.

Anyway, back to my point. Sorry you missed out, but at least I can now stop kicking myself for not being in town to take advantage of this deal. Seems that I was screwed either way.

We went early this morning....(around 11am)...the wonderful employees working then were still walking around with their swiffer dusters ;)

Bobbin 08-11-05 11:37 PM

I checked my local Target, found Queer As Folk: S3, Gilmore Girls: S2, and Sex and The City: S5 for $5.99, but someone had already taken the first two before I could purchase them. Damn.

I haven't found a posting from a VA member who got lucky with this deal :(. I may be wrong though.

Thanks for the information - you saved me the drive to Pasadena.

Tried three stores in St. Louis, MO. No luck at Kirkwood, Brentwood, and South County. If anyone in town has had any luck at other stores, I'd love to know where.

Thanks

Target at Potomac Yards, VA is a no go when I tried 08/09... but I did not check the Universal TV sets... only the WB, Sex&City, etc. sets... No go on those.

I checked the Rockville and Rio (Gaithersburg) Target yesterday. No go at those, also.

I think I saw one other besides my two posts about my luck at the Skyline Mall location.

Well, you didnt read my post back on like page 8 or something then. I found a couple in Manassas, VA, but it has been cleaned out now. Didnt have much to begin with. I read somewhere that the Falls Church one had some as well.

One guy got REALLY lucky in Concord NH (see earleir in the thread - top of one page I think).
I didn't really see much I was really interested in either, but these are still good to get for trades for sets you do want.
Also, as an update from the Hadley, MA Target - no go for 3rd Rock from the Sun, Jaws, Monk, Laguna Beach or Gilmore Girls.

For those keeping score in the Twin Cities area:

I made my way over to the St. Paul side of town yesterday...

Forest Lake - all full price

Lino Lakes - all full price

Vadnais Heights - all full price

North St. Paul (on McKnight) - all full price

Stillwater - Found Mary Poppins at $5.99. The interesting thing was it wasn't marked on the shelf like all the other deals posted, but the Jaws 30th WAS marked as a Price Cut from $16.99 to $5.99. I'm thinking that possibly some of these deals are actually meant to be happening. Of course, keep in mind this is the only store I saw it marked at that price.

yeldarb367 08-12-05 08:46 AM

My store had a Price Cut sign on Jaws too. I still don't think it's supposed to be on sale though. I think the store got word of the price drop and just decided to label it not knowing it's a mistake. Obviously, the mistakes are more obviously on the TV sets.

The Tulsa store I scored at had all the Friends sets marked on the shelf as price cut. I think it must just be an automatic thing when they got the new prices and it was up to individual management/employees to use common sense to what was legitimate and what was obviously a mistake.

DJ_Longfellow 08-12-05 08:54 AM

So, is this STILL going on? I think NO Michigan stores have the deal though....at least reported earlier they did not. I only wanted a few things too....not hoard everything

sideshow23bob 08-12-05 08:58 AM

The deal was still on at 2 of the 4 stores I visited in NC and TN yesterday though most were picked dry but got The L Word 1st Season, Charmed 1st Season, and Pocahontas. Good luck all!

yeldarb367 08-12-05 08:59 AM

I'd say the deal is on life support. The stores that still have the sale prices have a minimal selection or nothing at all. The majority of stores though seem to have pulled the sets or fixed the error.

I got a bunch from the Skyline one in Alexandria. Last time I checked, they still had a bunch of Newlyweds, The jerk, Jaws, Pocahontas and FS Spongebobs. Also, I got about 6 from the location on Rt 1 just south of the beltway. I checked on my way to work this morning and the shelves were all restocked, but the prices had been changed. So, 2 of the 3 norther Va ones I went to, I scored pretty big.
