Found Animal House: Double Secret Probarion edition for 14.99 - this price is very close to what other stores are selling it at. Just got to look a little closer for the deals.

Thanks for posting this GizmoDVD. I wouldn't have noticed otherwise, and I was able to get rid of a few DVDs I'd upgraded plus the two I regretted buying (American Pie 2 Foolscreen and Fast and the Furious).

BTW, store was in Bellevue WA on Bellevue Way and 10th (I think) if anyone in WA needs a store to take theirs.

Traded 24 dvds for $192 in credit at the Griffn/Hypron BBV. That's the only store in LA I found so far who are having this deal.

I spotted a few more in L.A.. Today I drove by the BBV on Lankershim in NoHo and the one on Bundy in WLA, both had the large $8 min. banner in their windows.

You got me there retihssuhnt, but not really. Well, not too bad, I had originally stated this since I saw BB and CC had it also for $19.99 I recall. And also of note that yes $15.99 is a great deal but still does not beat the price I "actually" paid at Blockbuster. I traded in titles that I mainly got in large lots off Ebay for around $3-4 a piece. Also I knew I would not get more than $4-5 at most than minus as someone else stated all the fees and heck since Blockbuster gave me tax on the trades I actually only pay for the DVD's technically since I give the tax right back on my purchase. So I should restate myself "How much better than about $10 ACTUAL COST OUT OF MY POCKET can anyone do for Shawshank Redemption SE that did not get it through the same trade in method.

I'm pretty sure I read "no more than 2 copies of the same title" on their terms.

BBV

This deal is going on all over the San Gabriel Valley in the L.A. area now. Had great help at the Walnut BBV.

Took 10 DVDs in for trade, primarily titles that are going to be re-released as SE's (Iron Giant, Three Kings). Was pleasantly surprised that a disc of Robotech season 1 eps. was accepted (assumed they weren't taking TV trade-ins), as were US releases of Hong Kong films Gen-X Cops, So Close and Tokyo Raiders.

Ended up with $80 + tax in credit. Great deal!

Isn't Showgirls rated NC-17? If it is, that the reason. Blockbuster does not carry adult films.

Answered my own question tonight... In case anyone was wondering, the 9pm cut off for trades is a chicago city thing I think. I traded in a suburb of chicago tonight at 11:00pm.

I'm curious as to what people are buying with their credit from BB.

Buy? I just like getting $8 credit for dvds I paid $3 for, I don't plan to actually buy anything

Seriously, I plan to wait for the next 3 for $25 sale (should be around Thanksgiving) and pick up some good PVDs. Or keep my eyes out for good trade-ins - saw an "Enter the Dragon" SE tonight which had been traded in, so not everyone is trading in junk.

I got a $160 GC from this deal and plan on trading in my PS2 and games at a Gamerush store, plus a few more dvds. The GCs don't expire until after 24 months of inactivity so I might hit up couple of sales (PVDs and games) in the meantime. I am thinking of stashing away the GC after that and getting the new X-Box when it comes out. Or not, have to wait and see.

I'm hoping for a day after Thanksgiving sale to use my credit. I remember last year that they had a sale on box sets, so hopefully that may happen this year as well.

The BBVs in Santa Clarita, CA are all participating.

I plan on hitting it up, but don't know which ones I want to part with for $8 (some are more obvious than others, of course).

Yep.... just traded in about 25 DVDs for a Gift Card and plan on using it on the next 3 for $25 and Pre-Orders deals. Also true is that "one man's junk is another's treasure"....

This round, I unloaded a bunch of Animes - YuGiOh, Kenshin, etc. I noticed that they opened sealed DVDs to inspect them... turning a NEW to USED status. Standard procedure with all retailers I guess.

Also, some of it is bound not to be "junk". I know I traded in a bunch of good DVDs that we just happened to have duplicates of. No Criterions or anything, but still....
