Nice! And yeah, Crumb was so disgusted about how they adapted Fritz in the animated films that he killed him off in spite. (according to what he said in the Crumb doc)

That's always been my understanding (as a more-than-casual Fritz fan). I couldn't see the movie when it came out (too young!) and by the time I could I had heard so much bad shit about it that I didn't want to besmirch my love of Fritz by sitting through it. I finally did buy the DVD a number of years ago and can confirm that it an abysmal piece of animated schlock.

When you said you were too young, at first I thought you were talking about the Crumb documentary and thought "Jesus, how old are you???" I was definitely way too young to see the Fritz the Cat movie when it first came out (X-rated!) but when I was around 15 years old I convinced my dad to rent it on VHS for me. And yes, it sucked.

Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day

Lopez is just an all-around great comic artist.

I recently finished the John Byrne Superman/Batman Generations omnibus and talk about a strange series. He should have just left it alone with the first series and stayed away from doing series 2 & 3. It just gets progressively worse with each issue. The ending of the 1st series was nice and nothing else was needed after that.

Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day

Watched this again last night. Reminded me of this cover from when I was a kid. Not a comic per se, but I love the art.

One of my favorite covers of all time, I have it framed in my office.

Indeed, and why does she right ‘ecstasy’ all over the board?
